Sarah was looking through the box of junk her Mom's friend gave to her when they stopped by at the end of her yard sale. She had found a yoyo, faded deck of Uno cards, Barbie doll missing all her clothes, a toy car missing a wheel, and a knotted up old red bandana. Since the box was rather beaten up and dirty, she thought she would untie the bandana and use it to carry her new treasures. As she was unknotting it, she thought she felt something hard in it. Very gingerly she unfolded the last one and saw an old iron skeleton key.
What in the world??? No way she thought......just no way. What would the chances be? she kept thinking.
But the more she looked at the key, the more she knew it to be true. She ran to an old trunk her Mom had bought at the yard sale, even though it was a locked trunk with the key having been lost long ago. Her Mom intended to pry the lock open and then use it for storage.
But Sarah thought to herself as she slid the key in the lock and turned, the lost key was never lost, just waiting to be found.
