Today was the first step in a long journey to come. I met with the folks at CBH to start the steps for another big change in my life. I intend to do the gastric sleeve.
I need to do something different and this is it.
Next step family dr approval. My appt is already set for next week. Then, insurance approval again for pre op tests and then on to surgery.
I am both eager and anxious and a bit shamed that it has come to this but sometimes in life you can't do it alone. This is one area I fought all my life....since infancy...time to get proactive on it and win the battle.
Spending the day with the Hubby!!!

I wanted to put this here to remember as it was such a good day.
Hubby had the day off as he is having a sleep study completed tonight. So he said about 11 this morning, "Let's go to Lex and go shopping and dinner." I kept thinking I don't really want to go that far and there is sooo much to do with school starting next week. So I was rather negative about it and he looked so crestfallen that I said ok.
Well, we had a really good day together. I am so glad I said yes. We went shopping - which I normally hate to do - but it was fun as we just strolled along not looking for anything in particular. But wound up getting a stool for my makeup area, some placements for our new table and books for him and for me. I also purchased a chaise chair that I will go back on Wed to pick up. He doesn't like them but gave in :) We got a REALLY good deal. I sure hope it fits in the back of my Honda.
We spent time just sitting and drinking while looking at books. We went into new stores that I had never been in - one store has these amazing photographs. It turns your photos into wall art.
We finished the day with dinner at an English styled Pub. He had Shepherds Pie and I had Chicken Pot pie......with bread pudding for dessert.
It was truly a nice day with my hubby and I am grateful I have him and I said yes when he asked. :)

I must say I have enjoyed watching various parts of the Olympics. Great Britain has done well in hosting it and the organization and security seem to have been amazing from my couch side seat. I am so very proud of the athletes who competed there. It was amazing what they did.
AND the USA taking more medals than anyone is AWESOME!!! Kudos to all of the USA athletes!!

Spent most of the day reorganizing the kitchen to get things off the counters and out of my way. :)
It is not perfect yet but it is sooo much better!
Mom in Law came over and spent several hours as well. She even wiped down the stove, microwave, and counter for me.
Made BBQ ribs, baked potatoes, veggies, and brownies for desert. YUM!!
Now...to watch the end of the Olympics and snuggle on the couch with hubby who actually has the night off. WHOHOOOOOOOOO!!!!

That was a big, big step but battle was in deciding to go on ahead with the operation. So, well done Birdy :) and good luck. There is girlfriend of mines who had a similar operation, and a few months after you would not of recognized her as she looked like a million dollars! :)
