The Ultimate Vampire Resource and Directory

Well folks, we know it has been far too long since we have given any updates. Even though we don't have all of our answers yet, we believe you deserve to know what is happening with The Ball.



The fact of the matter is that as of this writing, we will not be hosting La Bal Masqué Nocturne in 2007.



So, what ARE we doing and planning? We are already making our plans for October 2008. Our goal, as you may already know, is to create an event that people (and vampires) will wish to attend every year and have a great time for a great cause.



We have our sights on what we believe is the best location for LBMN 2008. Plans are still in the works for securing it, so we cannot divulge too much yet. We can say it is in Phoenix, AZ, so if nothing else, we are staying in our Valley of the Sun.



So what about 2007 and early 2008?



To raise funds and awareness for The Ball, one plan we are pursuing is a vampire/gothic inspired artwork gallery. This event was inspired by the New York Art Gallery high end scene, but ours will include auctions, the artists, contests, and more that we again cannot say yet. These will feature art of many mediums, limited only by the imagination. If you are an artist and would like to present your dark creations at one of these events, contact us for more information.



Another idea is to play host to some local live action role-playing groups. There are a number of them here in the Valley, and we're hoping to partner up with them to host their game sessions. If you are a member of a LARP group in the Metro Phoenix area and we have piqued your interest, please contact us.



We are also hoping to create a fundraiser music compilation CD of dark gothic music. Proceeds from the sales of such a CD would benefit the American Cancer Society and Joe Murphy Memorial Fund directly, as well as provide some funds to produce LBMN 2008.



All of these smaller events are working towards one goal: to raise money to give you the best Vampire ball while keeping the ticket sales reasonable at the same time, to have enough for the whole purpose of Nocturne... to raise money to donate to The American Cancer Society.



Moreover, some of you may have noticed that this website, MasqueNocturne.com had a face lift. We are working hard to make sure that the website serves as a community focal point for all of our events going forward and still provide information on 2008's Grand Ball. We want to create a website that is easy to navigate and allow you all to communicate with us more effectively.



In the end, we promise that La Bal Masqué Nocturne is not dead. Like any good creature of the night, we shall rise again, and the world may indeed not be ready for its return!
