On this dark eve of Samhain
Travel ‘twixt the world’s moun
Passion builds with each swallow
While dark blood fills neck’s hollow
Crimson claret cascades down
From white neck to Ivory gown
Rosy cheek fades to sallow
As mundane is made hallow
Thus Death’s seed is sadly sown
On those not wearing rowan
And the grave is left fallow
By those who vampires follow
Leaving life and all they own
To while the night with sad moan
Did you rule in ancient Aigyptos?
Or haunt the necropolis of Thebes?
Did you dine with Joshua that night?
Or witness the trial in Caesarea?
Did you travel to far Trebizond?
Or scale the mighty Mount Abora?
Did you tangle the Gordian knot?
Or puzzle the Sphinx with inquiry?
When you were a younger soul, my cat?
O What did you do upon the earth?
