This song is like my life's theme at the moment.
Sadly.
This here celibacy thing
Lawd, just got something over me
Like an addict, I could really use a thing
You know what I'm talking about
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah
It's been hard to sleep at night
I'm ying ying ying ying it
Scratching it right
I get some new batteries almost every night
Lawd, this here celibacy thing
The stresses of this world
You know how they come down on a girl
I'm trying to clear my mind
But all I seem to find
Is this gangsta, gangsta, type of need
People say mind over matter
But,I don't mind what they say
And it don't matter
This here celibacy thing
Is working on me...
If it's not one thing it's another.
First it was a month of rain which made half the state flood. Now we have not one but 2 cyclones being menacing up north. It is raining here even as I speak. Er, type. Stupid cyclones.
Cyclone Anthony died a relatively quiet death, causing only a little damage and woe, for a cyclone.
Currently, however, we have Tropical Cyclone Yasi bearing down upon our northern shores, due to cross the coastline in a bit under 5 hours. Yasi is a category 5 cyclone about the size of the continental US, with projected winds of 300kmph (186.4mph).
I remember, back in the dim dark ages of the past when I was only a little sprogling living up north, when the cyclones would come through and the cyclone warning would blare over the TV and radio, and we'd scurry around frantically putting flyable objects away and taping up windows and getting batteries for torches out. One particularly bad one I remember mum and I had a mattress off the bed which we were holding over the glass sliding door, which was bowing inwards to an immense degree from the air pressure, about to shatter. I was scared shitless, but it never did, which was cool.
One time ball lightning raced down the side of the house and exploded a dead tree about 25 metres away. I still remember the weird burbling whine it made as it zoomed through the air, and the explosion rained splinters down all over everything.
Mother nature is a bitch, y'all, and there's nothing really new here, we're just getting back to the patterns we saw thirty odd years ago.
Having said that, it is really pretty.

O.O im whining about the ice and here you are just gabbing away about cyclones like it's nothing......says something about me
Stay safe, Draky! That's a monster of a storm!
She is a bit of a big un, isn't she?
I'm perfectly fine here so no need for concern. My mum is up in Townsville however and my brother is in Mackay. From the last I heard they had a bad night but are well this morning.
