An Expectant Truth

From the minute the phone rings and I see her name

to when I need to hang up

I smile, laugh, and talk.

She brings a wonderful joy in to my life

lifting me up to new highs

while I lift her as well.

I never want to stop talking to her

even when I need to sleep

and the hours tick by.

Suddenly it's early morning and sleep is fleeting

but I think of her as I close my eyes

and wish for her in my arms.

For she is very special to me on so many levels

the way I haven't really felt in a while

and I think of her while writing this.

And when she is finally with me and next to me

everything will be perfect for me

and we will be forever.
