One night when I was living out West I met this group of people in a parking garage. We were their for the same reason and quickly made acquaintances. After talking and sharing stories the conversation turned to more serious topics. It grew from simple slight of hand tricks to "war" stories.
Later in the evening one of the people took me aside and we began to talk and share very personal information about our lives. Th told me I could do more than I knew I was capable of and that they could show me.
They take a Bic out of their pocket and begins to burn a highly specific object I offered up. He instructed me to focus on the flame and will it to get bigger. I did as I was instructed and for a second nothing happened. All of a sudden, however, as I was focusing the flame unexpectedly grew and consumed the object very, very, very quickly.
Rome wasn't built in a day. Nothing that apparent has happened since, but I had a thought last night before bed. Perhaps powers and gifts are perishable just like any other gift. Perhaps the universe gifts one for a season and when its no longer needed it goes away.
Movies have people convinced supermen and women are born, not made or developed. "I didn't ask for this ______" is a common phrase in almost every super movie. Hell, I'll take it, but I digress. If you had your gift for just one day...only a day...what would you do with it and why?

Depends on what said gift is. However, I would use it for greater good as there is far too much evil and if I could defy against all odds, well I would take that chance. People are far more able to do things in which would have man question such abilities. Unfortunately, most won't take the time to tap into their self awareness and explore what it is that their minds can really do due to the fact for them they assume "it's hogwash". For some, I can see how tis a good thing they don't as they would only use it to bend others to their will, which would not be a good thing at all. Our minds are a very powerful thing and it saddens me to see most people throw that away.
Sorry for ranting as your entry has put me in deep thought. I will favorite your journal as I look forward to future posts.
