Well, as if August wasn't a rotten enough month... the only good day was around Bat's Day weekend and being around great people and friends and having fun.
Had my cat die; a childhood friend die; best friend since we were 6 years old - her dog that I've known since a puppy has stage 4 cancer; at work get new manager who wants to just shake and rattle us all up to the point of frenzy - and now my work hours will absolutely and totally stink and be worse than they've been for years; got a virus with a cough and cannot shake it for over 10 days now and hard to even move; past 7 days dealing with a heat wave of over 105 each and every day with bad air quality, no a/c in this old house I rent and will continue for several more days before it breaks; and now the newest roommate who's only been here a few months is moving out in October to go hang with kids her own age near the college she just started - she's been a pain in the butt, but she's sweet and pays the 1/3 of the bills my other roomie and I need so badly...
I got 3 ads going as of last night but the average time to get someone in that room is over 3 months and my other roomie and I are wondering how we're coming up with another $400 a month until then - we hope we're luckier this time around....with my car payment, this will not be easy...sigh
Whenever I start to relax or stop worrying, something comes and yanks the rug out from under me and I'm getting so tired of it.
Just had a light earthquake just big enough to feel for a few seconds. It occurred at 10:29 AM (PDT) today, Sunday, September 2, 2007.
The magnitude 4.7 event occurred 8 miles(13 km) WNW of Lake Elsinore, CA. Which is due east of where I live here in Anaheim, CA and approx 30 + miles away.
The hypocentral depth is 2 miles (2 km).
It was a sharp shake, followed by a few seconds of a 'sliding motion'... trust me, they all have different feels to them!
This was extremely minor and just one of those you stop, then shrug and go about your day kind of quakes.
Trust me, we like these and nothing like a hurrican or tornado, and even if a quake is a bad one, they are years in between and still, tornados and hurricanes are every year swathing a path of destruction.
