Enlightenment is not the accumulation of knowledge; it is the full realization of who you already are. True wealth has nothing to do with material possessions; it is the surrender to an abundance that has no limit. What you seek is not somewhere else at some other time; what you seek is here and now, within you. The more you look for it outside yourself, the more it hides from you. Relax, remember the source of your deepest desires, and allow yourself to know their fulfillment.
Last night on Netflix I began watching that show Salem. The first few episodes were not so bad. It takes place in the era of the Salem Witches. About the 4th episode I began to think, now if I was a witch/warlock how would I view this show? I try to have empathy. The Salem witch hunt was terrible:
The seeds of the hysteria that afflicted Salem Village, Massachusetts were sown in January 1692 when a group of young girls began to display bizarre behavior. The tight-knit community was at a loss to explain the convulsive seizures, blasphemous screaming, and trance-like states that afflicted the youngsters. The physicians called in to examine the girls could find no natural cause of the disturbing behavior. If the source of the affliction
The Salem Village Meeting House where the trials took place was not attributable to a physical malady, the community reasoned that it must be the work of Satan. Witches had invaded Salem. More than 200 people were accused of practicing witchcraft and 20 were killed during the hysteria.

Now in this show it is all about a coven of witches who are evil. This is what I had problems with. If I was a warlock , someone who practiced the true craft I would be insulted. Yes I know this is fantasy and that this is what this show is based on. I would feel as insulted as I do in many movies on how natives are presented on the big screen/in movies. I know some witches. Some I have met here who practice the craft and they are far from evil. Witch craft has a lot of roots in nature which I do too. I just think sometimes things are pushed too far all in the name of entertainment. I would like to ask how do some witches/warlocks who practice view shows like this? Not to mention the fact that during the Salem witch trails 20 innocent people were put to death. I do not see any entertainment value in that. Same with my culture how a genocide was done all in the name of land.

I agree .. but I look at the show as just entertainment .. most people dont believe in witches or think we are satan worshippers.. which there maybe some .. but thats a whole different story ... there are several types of witches and satanic is one ...
And btw hun a male witch is a witch ..
a warlock is considered to be a trader ..
the burning and killings of witches and non witches happened .. I even know of things such as this happening today ..
But honestly I think the show is just a show and the witches I know find it amusing at times .. because they really dont know about US ..
Just my 2 cents :)
LOl thanks for educating me. I always just assumed a male witch was a warlock. I think some here call themselves that too.
I watched the show for a few episodes.. but once it started showing witches as a BAD thing.. I stopped watching it... Its shows like this that makes us look bad..
I was also double annoyed as I told you in a private message that my grandfather (10th generation) is Samuel Wardwell... one of the last sets to be hung in Salem...
Its uncanny sometimes how much we think alike Sis. I guess that is one reason we became instant friends. That must of been horrible for your family back then to loose him in such a manner. Yes, that upset me too when I was watching it. I felt it totally disrespected the tragedy of 20 people being killed and there living ancestors.
Well he got himself in a pinch..
He was the only one in the family to never get baptized.. so it made him a prime target..
He dabbed into fortune telling and telling people their future.. and some turned true...
Then he told some lady she was a dishonest woman.. and the father of the woman was the arresting officer that arrested him
And so when he pled not guilty.. those that he told fortunes testified against him..
Also he married Elizabeth and people thought he was not worthy of her nor did he pay her dowry .. so they felt he was not deserving of her... because he was poor then when he married her he was then wealthy..
So he had a challenge
I'm a full grown man and I just finished packing a sleep over bag (going to a friends house while my house is going to be painted inside) the contents included; a change of clothes, toothbrush and deodorant, hair gel, 4 fruit cups, a jello pudding, 2 koolaid jammerz, granola bars, and Xbox 360 games.
