The thing I loved about Season 1 (wasn't impressed with 2) of True Blood was that it kind of reminded me of Night of the Living Dead. Now, now...I know...it's not a low budget black and white zombie movie...laugh!
But...I remember seeing NOLD for the first time when I was in 7th grade, after midnight, when I was alone in a house babysitting. By the end of the movie, when the people were led by the police to "lynch" all the zombies, the comment by the Sheriff as to why he could kill them without impunity was: "They're slow. They're dead. They're all messed up." It seemed to have a social commentary running just underneath the surface.
True Blood seems to have theirs running right along the surface.

I can say I haven't seen True Blood yet, but I see all the rave for it as I do for Twilight...for some reason, shows like that tend to smack like props for John Q Public with no imagination...much like bands slapped together with good looks, a lot of flair and a good dance beat..New Kids on the Block comes to mind...as do others...:p
