HOLY SHIT, I'm not ready for my open house... and I have to stay here for another hour... ACK!

But thankfully it's mostly small bits I have to do for tomorrow. Wish me luck, I need it; considering they are now saying another 30 cm of snow tonight :(

Trying to type while two wieners dog pile on your lap, and one is trying to lick you... is challenging.

I hurt all over.

Seriously, every inch is sore. I also spent 5 hours shovelling snow yesterday. 2 hours to try to get the car available to the street (didn't happen as over an inch covered everything I cleared), an hour to do the sidewalk in the afternoon; followed by 2 more hours digging the car out, and then the majority of the lane way.

I still have a 10'x4' section to clear but I'm waiting for the temperature to raise a little before I "attack" it. I know I should have done it yesterday; but there was a wall of hurt that I just couldn't push past. While it will be a bit more work today, I needed the rest.

Today I have a meeting, some writing and an chiropractic appointment. I think the latter is sorely needed (pun, pun, pun!).

New privacy paper work- done.

New consent forms- done.

Entries for the open house- done.

Went down the street with flyers- done.

Now I just have to go down the other street and from there... we'll see how many people show. I at least have two helpers for the day which is huge. We'll see how this open how goes. Supplies are ordered, and well... now it's just a matter of time to see what comes of it.

I have to say it's a relief to have the items directly related to the complaint taken care of. Now I'm 95% taken care of (still some items to get the clinic 100%, but it takes time, and none of them are safety or privacy related). All and all, I'm pleased with where things are going; I just have so much more to do!

Small bits each day.

So during my morning routine, it is common that Egon "cries" if I don't let him in my lap. Only to be chased off by Spazz, and then to come back and curl up again in my lap. It's been fun watching the animals create their morning routine to go along with mine.

Right now Spazz is sprawled across my lap, while Egon patiently waits for her to leave. Once she does, he will be certain to take "ownership" of said lap once more.

BOO. Only one more day of my Mama being here :(

Good thing, I think her wheels are turning when it comes to here, especially with how it went and the area I'm now living. Here is to hoping!

I had a complaint this week that made me go over various laws and my understanding of it. I was right (neener, neener) but this complaint has actually taught me a LOT.

The nature of making a complaint in our society is so unproductive. And while the perception of the person was understandable, their accusation of my not following the law or being ethical was nothing more than a shot to personally attack me.

Going over everything with my assistant and mother helped (both are also health practioners), but it's showing me where I can hone how I address things, and ideally get better responses.

So that is my gratitude, learning, every day :)

Having a great time with my Mama. I think today we will go get a Christmas tree and decorate it (she's only here till Friday, and I'd like to set up Christmas with her).

I think today will be another movie and popcorn kind of day.

Saturdays early Thanksgiving was wonderful. I think over 20 people came out, and it was a great time. My fridge is over flowing (which is good because I'm broke and this will keep me fed). Today we'll have turkey soup and I think I'll also make butternut squash soup.

Ok, it's a good day to remember. Perhaps some old war time movies while decorating the tree...

Lest we forget.

I can't stand anxiety. Truly it sucks.

Yet I can't forget about my yoga classes and then I find myself breathing a bit deeper and increasing my focus.

Damn if people only understood how their reactions affect others. This a perception I plan on focusing on for a bit, consciousness sometimes is not just something that happens, but something we have to teach ourselves to do.

So I failed my test by.... ONE QUESTION *sigh*

it's ok. I had the exact same thing happen out of school. Good news is, I KNEW I had not studied enough, and I KNEW I was really weak on certain topics. So, looking at the bright side, next time I'm going to fucking rock that test home.

Really. Think about it. 10 years of ZERO studies. 1.5 months of trying to cram with a week to do just that and I failed by one question. I now have until MAY to study, review and relearn what I'd forgotten... No problem.

Oh and professionalism? I got a perfect score of 700 :P

SO try to tell me I'm not professional, I've got a document that proves you wrong, lol.

Overall, I'm glad. Really, it's odd. Because some of things I'm doing now- are really changing how I practise, and that to me is a total win-win.

Ok back to worky work for me :)

Spicy left over mexican food, with coffee. The breakfast of champions! Now for shower and nap. I love Tuesdays.

Mama is asleep and pups are whining to "have at her". So I better get to napping so she can sleep without the ruckas at her door.

I'm always a bit sad taking down the Halloween decorations. Tomorrow I'll peel off the window ones and then I have to do laundry, floors and some work. I also hope to have time with some organization of the sewing room. I have a lot of projects I've been putting off, and now that some big things are in process; it's time I get my hobby out again.

Well, one of them.

The other I've also been working on. :)

An extra hour tonight? Let's see if the pups let me indulge in extra long in the morning.

So, busy day today and tomorrow. Quick round up:

went to see Johnette Napolitano last night. less than 150 people there in a small ballroom. Incredible! She started with one song and went right into Joey. Then she ended with a cappella version of Wendy.

what was the most touching was the raw emotion of her performance. and I mean RAW. I don't know if she's uber shy, or overwhelmed by people but her performance was broken many times, to the extent I wondered if she were drunk. regardless, it was powerful and real.

sadly it made me wonder if she'll be around for another tour. definitely want to see her live again.

then we booked it to london for the closing of the city's only industrial/goth bar. we got back 5 min before it closed. i got a scotch (was that or banana liquor) and danced and talked with many people I adore for about 45 min when they booted us out. end of an era, and i saw someone who did a world of hurt to me. while there is so much that has happened to them, and myself (granted different types of extremes) the response was telling.

How have you been?

Fantastic

Oh I've been to hell and back (implying that nothing has gone wrong in my life)

and then it hit me. this is the difference of perspective and how things will or will not work out. for the betterment, you need rose coloured glasses. not so you don't see the dirt, but so you remember it can be cleaned and to take things one step at a time.

however, that didn't prepare me for the shit storm at home. seems my dog sitter thought it was "OK" to leave the boys out. i lost count on 14 clean ups. it was EVERYWHERE. GAH. Note to self, don't use them unless desperate, which I was.

but i'm back on track and heading into work today with actual excitement! WOO :)

yes, i'm lazy; which is why improper capitalizations. ok coffee and then BAM great day a head
