If you're wondering why I am online when I said I was going away for seveal months, here's the reason why.
Last week I was standing atop a 8-10 foot tall steel ladder with my head in a cherry tree, picking cherries with a bucket slung over one shoulder. It all happened very fast...
In one swift movement, the ladder toppled over and I went crashing to the ground with it, taking a branch or two with me. Amazingly I landed on my feet, but my right leg clipped something on the way down and immediately swelled up and hurt so badly that it was akin to being on fire. Nearly a week on, I've had to wear a very tight sock, and my still swollen leg has turned a mottled combination of beetroot purple, marshian green, vomit yellow, red and blue.
In less than two days I have to return to work even though walking still feels horrible, and my shin feels like it was hit with a sledgehammer.
I believe that everything happens for a reason, and am trying to prove to myself that this has been a blessing in disguise... just a very good disguise.
