I made a batch of cilantro lime rice yesterday, and this stuff is so good, I had to make it again today. We ate a lot of it yesterday, and there wasn't going to be enough for more than one person to have some today. So... it's wafting in the air once again ;)

Did you set it up all by yourself? Wow. I don't belong in the mainstream. I wish to open up an esoteric shop myself... but I don't know anyone who can help me out. Just wow. It's beautiful.
Yes. Very inexpensive to do. I have a lot more going on in this space, but I was just spotlighting the Tarot in these images, mainly.
Only one more week of cards to share and we will be through all 78.
This has been fun to do. They’ll stay in my journal to remember. In the end I may put these together for a Member Page- but I’ll have to do some edits because my wordings oftentimes were based on the imagery in this deck. My son and I have an idea to create a deck of our own- I’ll write the book and basically design the cards... but he’d do the legwork on the art. I imagine this is a long time ahead to produce- but I do see it happening. We can create a deck, then pitch it on Kickstarter for a larger production and see where it goes. If it doesn’t get any bites, we’ll still have created something great together that he and I will have. It wouldn’t be a waste :)

I call dibs to buy several when you are finished:)
If Kickstarter is a bust, we can always do a print on demand- so anyone who wants it can get it :)
I’ve definitely been doing a LOT of cleaning since we’ve been in this scenario. Keeps you moving indoors as well as staying safe. I don’t mind. It always feels good to sit back and be happy with what you’ve accomplished.
Today we went to deposit $100 in the ATM, and the ATM didn’t record the deposit or give the cash back. It’s not a good time to lose 100. I called and emailed- and they said it could take 10 days to get it back. What a crap thing to deal with right now.
Oh well... at least we have been able to find TP in the city.

There is gonna be a lot of clean houses to say the least lol:)

With all that is happening in the world right now, this life-altering stuff on a global scale... I would encourage anyone who needs it to get some perspective on what's bothering you to no end.
You don't have to let people walk all over and be weak in order to be decent. I get that some people have no desire to be decent- so I'm not talking to anyone who wants to sit in their own pile of shit.
Ego and apathy are also disease.
Takeout tacos didn’t happen. They closed up for the time being. I get it- it’s a mom and pop place and they’re up there in age. Also, we won’t be driving to the Quarter. Even though we planned to stay in the vehicle with me snapping shots from the window, we now have a shelter in place mandate. We can only go out for takeout food, grocery stores, banks, healthcare, and gas/auto repair. I’m assuming just driving around down there is not advised.
We have over 300 cases and 8 deaths in Orleans at this moment.
Doing laundry, keeping busy with random stuff around the house, and planning takeout tacos for lunch. Just a quick drive down the street seems like a cool "outting".
We're playing it safe- but plan to also take a drive to the French Quarter to see it utterly vacant in the evening really soon, because it's the wildest thing ever here in New Orleans for that to be the case. Plenty of pictures are floating around with empty Bourbon Street scenes- but seeing it with my own eyes will be different.
*
Here in New Orleans we are used to wild circumstances with hurricanes and hard-to-get items with stores completely closed during those times. So being basically stuck at home but also having electricity and all other modern conveniences that go along with that make this a pretty easy situation in that regard. We are just concerned with being able to get goods when we run out- like the rest of the world.
Another messed up thing to think about are the reports now of pets getting coronavirus. Yesterday I read an article of a dog dying from it. Shit has gotten even more real.
We're used to regional disasters- getting notes of concern from afar as we deal with the aftermath of bad weather or terrorist crap across the globe... but right now, everyone is dealing with the same thing (in different degrees as far as China, Italy...)- and that's just one hell of a different story.
After dropping another $350, it seems to be fixed now. We took it for a little spin and there were no problems. What a pain in the ass.

I am glad that fiasco is over. Nothing more annoying than having to deal with "how much more are you guys gonna ass f@ck me for repairs". It's not like you can bargain for lower prices, you are at their mercy (again I think I have threatened balls being cut off, but I forget you can't be that raw with people you want fixing your rig LOL). 👍
Nope, last night’s happiness was speaking too soon. A whole new radiator now to purchase.

It should be done today. Barring no more surprises… And if they do send out stimulus checks to all American adults, it will be welcome.
Looks like we got some excellent news. If all is what the mechanic has just quoted, it is going to be an affordable fix. It's just under $500, which isn't *cheap*... but we couldn't make it few miles without pulling over and waiting for it to cool down and then completing filling it with anti-freeze again, it was spilling like a sieve. Those jugs cost $10 bucks a piece. So a trip to the grocery store would cost that $10 plus gas. Just imagine what a week would cost with my husband going to work daily (and working two jobs) and whatever else we needed to do... all that, and at any moment we were at risk of worse damage by not getting it repaired. So yeah... the repair cost could have been WAY worse. So I am thanking my lucky stars.
It never fails, whenever times of crisis are upon us, we have vehicle problems. Can’t make it from A to B without pulling over for a while. We’ve gotta take this van in next week and PRAY the cost is manageable.

Yeah. This is undoubtedly happening to people all over the globe right now.
Getting ready to go pick up another huge load of our son's belongings. Yesterday when we got there to pick stuff up, he was on a mandatory conference call that would last a couple hours... so he kept in it with his earbuds while bringing stuff to the van. Times are wild. His workload with the University paper has just tripled and it'll all be remote and via the school website- he's the managing editor for Digital. All courses will be online, and he takes 7 classes at a time. Also, he has to be sure to PT (physically train) for the Army 3 times a week at least to stay in proper shape. Anyone who comes back to duty in August and fails their physical fitness test after this will get fried, yes, fried not fired- as in 'ass handed to', up the proverbial creek of shit without the hospital paddle one would need to take that trip. Times like these are when officers in training need to be trusted to take care of their crap without someone looking over their shoulder.
So they (students) are coming home, but this is far from a vacation. It's harder to do all your work in a house with people living, walking around, possibly distracting. My husband will probably be working from home starting next week as well- and when he's not working, he should stay off the television so it doesn't bother Cristo (our computer area is right there side by side with the living room). It was perfect timing for me to set up my office space upstairs- I'll be out of the way for sure.

I hope everything goes over easy....I know this virus has everything in chaos
Members... please put things into perspective and stop spamming my inbox. I’m in the middle of moving my son out of his dorm and back home due to his university closing down for the rest of the year for coronavirus preparedness. I cannot deal with personal disputes- especially ones Cancer doesn’t want us touching.
We will be involved in this move all weekend. I’ll be home some of the time- but that time isn’t going to be devoted to Vampire Rave either.

please be safe hopefully they find a cure for this stuff soon
I wish you the best of luck, during this hard and difficult time.
Yeah and quit buying all the damn toilet paper.
Well then so we now know who to mug for TP
Let’s change the virus name to, Great Cornholio virus. Everyone needs TP for the BungHole.
There was only one pack on the shelf when I grabbed it yesterday! That was enough for people to want me dead.
Starting tonight we will be making trips to the dorm to load up all Cristo's stuff and bring it home. He's going to be helping his girlfriend pack up as well... and then they will begin a long distance relationship, because that's the only option if they want to stay together. I know she will drive down to visit whenever she can though. She lives 5 hours north, just outside of Shreveport. I hope they can make it work- because she's pretty awesome.
This young lady fits in with us. It wasn't weird from day one. She's a nerd, a gamer, likes the same entertainment as we do. She even a Tarot card reader and has a few decks herself!
Part 2 from below... they also don’t get reimbursed for paying for a semester of housing they can’t use.

This is fraud
That is crazy! When the students do go back they should not be charged for food nor housing for the time period they lost out. I went to college on a scholarship but there were still a lot of stuff I had to buy myself. I would be pissed.
Of course this doesn't compare to *dying*, so don't my frustration when I very well know that... but it still sucks that my son isn't getting a chance to have proper goodbyes to friends who are Seniors at his university- as with many schools they are now flipping to online attendance for the rest of the semester. Students are leaving campus beginning Monday, and moving out of the dorm.
Also, many of you are familiar with school credits you can buy to use in the food court and whatnot over the semester... Well, they aren't being reimbursed for that and it won't roll over to next year! My son got a school loan for that and has $1400 in credit on his account. Last night he was racing to use as much of it as he can and handing out food to all his friends just so it won't get wasted. It's a bunch of bullshit. I'm glad he's sharing, but the situation is messed up- they should reimburse the students or let them use those credits later when the university opens back up for on-campus courses again.

edit: "so don't *judge* my frustration..."
Damn, that is frustrating as hell.
I’m really loving my office space. It’s exactly what I wanted... I just need a better chair. I ordered one that seemed fine, but I don’t think it’ll cut it for long-term sitting with taking classes online and whatnot. So I just ordered a different one. I hope this will be a better option, but I still had to be super mindful of price, and you get what you pay for usually. Again, just trying to trust many of the reviews that it’s an excellent bang for my buck. One might say I need to go into a place like Office Depot and sit in several of them and decide from there- but I hate, despise, loathe shopping.. Anyhow...
If you’re going to be studying or working at your desk for a while- I’m definitely one for needing my surroundings comfortable physically and visually. And since it’s my home- I don’t need to abide by anyone’s aesthetic rules but mine. So, yay.

Big vehicle repairs upon us, crossing fingers that it’s actually not as expensive as we stress ourselves out thinking it might be. Feel free to join me in some positive thinking on that front :)

Didn’t make a video about those cards I was talking about a couple days ago… I’ll try to get on that as soon as I can.
I’m super pumped about a few decks of cards I have coming in the mail today! Two are strictly playing cards (will be used for cartomancy, and you’ll understand when I share images), and another is 2 in 1 Tarot/playing card deck. This is my jam. I can always use any regular playing card deck, but this is exactly the goal: cartomancy.
I'm going to be setting up a table/desk in the 3rd bedroom this week for personal space. We have a computer area downstairs where we all spend our time- but sometimes I need to get away from any noise (even if it's only the noise of someone laughing at Vine compliations on YouTube). Hard to focus with studying and other things. I won't always be up there, but when I need it, it'll be there.
Home alone this week. But I’ve got two cats, so not really :)

6 cats here
I'd have 6 cats if I could. 2 pet limit in military housing though :(
It's true... sometimes I make incoherent posts here- because I deal with a degree of dyslexia. It bothers me to no end, and you'll be wasting your breath to say it's no big deal. I mean, I move on and get over it, but I *hate* it. Trust I am not going to flush myself down the toilet and say "bye bye cruel world" over it- but it's a top tier peeve.
I am never going to be offended when someone points out mistakes in my posts. I want to fix them.
*made another mistake and lost a couple comments*
This is just a giant ball of me and that dyslexic stuff as well as autocorrect. Sometimes I look at it and it actually is right, and then it autocorrects after I’m done. Sometimes I even use speech to text which gives another third way to fuck things up.
