We got a Morrigon's Mardi Gras mask in the mail for Cristo today :) He is all about it. It looks amazing.
My nephew came out of his coma, off life support, breathing on his own, and freaking discharged tomorrow. What an insanely awesome recovery he's had!
A good weekend to say the LEAST.

Thats great news I am glad he is okay

Ok, wait a minute.
If someone were to say "Cartomancer" five times, while looking into a mirror??? >:O
😂 Let them so as they must...
I got to four times. OH HELL NO! >:D
Typo up there from me- let them *do* as they must.
Oddly enough I read the *do* in the sentence. VR has taught me to read fluent typonesse.
It’s the biggest weekend of the Mardi Gras season upon us. My son will be marching with the Krewe of Rex, so we will be out there for that one at least. Just one parade is plenty :) I love Mardi Gras, but no one loves not being able to find a bathroom, heh.
I have a nephew on life support in a medically-induced coma right now. It’s hard to believe this is happening. I’m praying over the next days some huge improvements come about.

I am terribly sorry I hope the condition improves
I pray your Nephew pulls out of his trama soon and make a full recovery,
*hugs* and good juju sent your way!
There is no good excuse for being an intentional horrible person. As Morrigon said, we all go through tough things. I’m going to write a lot here that has a bunch of TMI, not meant to use our lives as a competition of who had it worse, but an example of what you can choose for yourself as an adult no matter what you go through as a child (and why I won't put up with this an an excuse to be a shit here on VR). And instead of just giving you a bunch of lipservice, I’m actually going to provide proof of everything. I don’t care who sees these names and has official documentation of the things that I have gone through, because they are not my mistakes. People who know me already know these things. These are not things I have done, but things that I have experienced - and I have come out on top. I may not have a good bank account- but I am ALIVE and devoting my life to helping others. Some of you are going to think I’m on crack for sharing such official paperwork here, but I’m telling you…I don’t care who knows. I live my life on the up and up, completely different than what I have gone through. My community knows who I am.

I’m not going to give you every detail of my life, but I’ll tell you after a very rocky road as a small child, my biological mother dumped my brother and I with strangers. We were abandoned. My brother remembered a phone number that those strangers called who were able to get in touch with my father who came to get us after a while.

Your story is something I cannot even imagine. I've seen glimpses of your son growing up the past 15 years (FIFTEEN YEARS?!?!) and everyone who has seen your dynamic knows this kid is so lucky to have a mom as enthusiastic as you. You're so proud of him and you have every reason to be. You're a light in the dark and not just a candlelight or a soft glow, you're usually soft spoken but anyone who knows you, even just a little, knows that the light is a blazing fire within you.
I've come to you multiple times, once not too long ago, because I needed someone to set me straight, and you did in your usual gentle way.
It kills me to know the pain you've gone through because for well over a decade now I've seen how you conduct yourself and you do SO MUCH to give to people. You give without needing anything in return. You do the right thing just because you want too.
Thank you
I just hope I can raise my daughter right and give her all she deserves. You are a very strong woman and a brave one at that. You have proven that no matter what happens to you in life you are in charge how you make it good or bad when you grow up and move on with life. You have the choice and no one can make it for you to get up and dust yourself off and keep going. I have you and hold you in high regards and very much respect.
As adults, we are all in control of what we do. To put it out there that it’s impossible to be anything different than our circumstances is the largest line of shit ever laid out. I am in charge and in control of what I do. I may not have control over my nightmares, but when I’m awake… My life is mine. There are countless people all of the world that are doing the same thing. Making sure their lives are lived differently because they know what the other side of the fence is all about- and they wouldn’t want to perpetuate it.
Thank you Heidi♡ You inspire in ways you don't even realize. You are simply Amazing!

Yup. It's that good LOL
I think I can safely say that I'm in all three categories. I suppose it depends on what things are happening.
If you’re a walker, consider loading the “Achievement” app on your phone. It connects to Fitbit, Apple Watch, and other devices that track your steps so you can earn points with them that eventually mean cash. Very little money and takes a shitload of time- but still worth it to me. I was just able to buy myself a cheap tarot deck I wanted with it. When I say little money- took me 8 months to get $10. So with a small balance on PayPal and a $5 thrown in from my husband, I got the deck. It’s the John Bauer Tarot- one I’ve wanted for a bit now.
Happy Valentine’s Day!

How do you cope with leg pain? I love walking but I put myself out of function for two weeks after my knee blew out. Feh...
Well, I’m a complete idiot on that front so I can’t give any advice.
I dont listen to my pain because I don’t always know what is Fibromyalgia related or something else. Over the summer I’m pretty sure I had a stress fracture that I kept pushing through on a 20 mile day. Then... I had to use a cane for several weeks. Right now I am just doing 2-3K steps, coming back inside and resting a while, then going back out. I try to break my steps up over 3 trips outside currently. Gives me time to be sure I’m good. Then I get more steps inside just by going up and down our stairs doing stuff around the house.
I'm having such a hard time fitting working out into my schedule. I know that is a cop out, I miss it.. I'm getting MAYBE 3,000 a day. It's bad.
You have to be still to work on those masks. And you’re working a LOT.
A Harvard study was done a while back for optimal steps. It came out to 6500 which is about 2.7 miles. Which for me is consistently doable and takes about a n hour. I founund these days 8 miles is my outer limit any more than that and my ankles don't work well. It is all a matter of making time or breaking up the time also a very good form of meditation.
I have always heard it to be 10K steps. So that’s my daily goal. I currently average about 15K though.
That’s me!

I started binge-watching Mayans MC on Hulu... wanted to catch up with the show before season 3 starts (whenever that happens), but damn it- Hulu doesn't have season 2 :( Need to find some sketchy place online to watch the second season.

That’s right!
Got a new foster case today. Fourth one since becoming a CASA. Time is flying... I only hope this one can end as good as our last 3.

That's right, Danny!
We were all over the place today doing stuff, to the degree I rounded up 5 miles on my Fitbit without going to exercise specifically. I think a good day is being able to do that if you can "on accident", heh.

I have done that already. Didn’t realize how “active” I really was until I got mine.
Nice! I've been slacking :(
On Saturday, my husband, son, and I were initiated into the Independent Order of Odd Fellows. Talk about exciting! This falls in perfect line with our strong need for to be involved in our community in all the ways that we can. You don’t need money (okay, there are membership dues here- but I’m talking about volunteering in general), all you need is some time (and we all have it rather we think so or not).
The initiation? I wish I could share, but that's just part of the 'secret society' stuff. It was very cool and full of esoteric symbology.

A Big Congratualtions.
Thanks :)
Another Marine and Odd Fellow pitched the idea for us to join, but I told him we had to watch our budget or we would. The dude paid for both my husband and I through the first year :) My son just used some of his drill pay for his. I’m like... well, nothing to say no to then at this point!

Oh, wow that is amazing! One day I have on my list things to do in America, top of list, Mardi Gras. That float is Le Art! Thanks for sharing those pics.
