Crab Stuff

My biggest crab has legs that are longer and thicker than my fingers. I saw him stretching in the tank today and he could reach halfway up the glass. I realized he wanted to come out and climb something, so I picked him up and set him on the floor in front of the sofa.

He strolled around a little bit, excited to be out in the big room, then ran into the end of the sofa, and reached up, hooked a claw into the side of it, and pulled himself up. He got to the top of the cushions, and patrolled around for awhile, till he got to the arm rest. He climbed that, and got to the top where I have an afghan across the back. He strolled along the top till he got to the edge. I have a chair that I sit in next to the sofa, so I just extdended my arm over and he walked across it and up my shoulder.

Having a big ol crab on your shoulder, whose pincers could easily take off a chunk of your earlobe, was a little odd. He sat there for a bit, his antennas waving, then decided to walk down the front of my shirt to my lap, then down my legs to the floor.

He had quite a bit of fun out of the tank, and when I put him back in, he went straight to the salt water bath and took a little dip. Then he had a snack, and went to his heated corner, and curled up for a nap.

Now the little ones will want to come out and play, too.
