I've pushed back the start of beta testing to September 6th. This is a 2 week delay. I just won't be ready on August 23rd.
This means public launch will hover somewhere around October 1st. This could actually be a good thing, as year after year, October is Vampire Rave's busiest month.
The update is more or less done. What I am working on right now are refinements. I need to get everything in order before beta testing begins.
The Beta Test phase of the next Vampire Rave update is about to begin. It is scheduled to launch on August 23rd. Beta testing will be open to all Acolytes+.
I cannot fully predict how long beta testing will last. I expect it to last at least 2 weeks. It may last 4 weeks or more.
Ideally I would keep the beta testing phase open for several months. However, I know many of you are impatient for the new update to be unveiled. I'll try to get as much testing as possible done in the 2-4 week window, and hopefully we'll have a public launch soon.

Ahem... Cool.
Can't wait :)
May you still volunteer for the testing if you may be absent for a week of it or do you need to be available the entirety of the testing?
It's unknown how long the beta test phase will be open. 2-4 weeks is just a projection. It could go longer or finish up quicker (although I doubt it will go less than two weeks).
If you're an Acolyte+ you should have received a message from me about how to join the beta test team.
Will the testing noticeably slow VR down?
It shouldn't impact VR at all.
Totally cool beans.
I am (admittedly) one of the impatient people. I do apologize for that. It is all just very exciting to me.
Looking forward to testing those Betas.
* OK betas ... don't turn those papers over until the Prince says - GO! *
I've been working non-stop (more or less) since June 10th. Since then, I have only taken 1 day off and that was for my birthday.
I've been working between 8 and 14 hours per day. Today, after working about 2 hours, I couldn't work any more.
I guess I need a break.
I broke down and bought Starcraft II. I bought it online and the 7gig download is still downloading. I have a 10 mbit connection, but the file is not downloading at full speed. I'm guessing Blizzard's servers are overloaded. Since this game launched last week over 2 million copies have been sold.
I want to finish the project I'm working on. I'm getting very close to completing it, but I'm going to need to take a break. I plan on taking the rest of tonight and the weekend off... Then I'll get back to programming on Monday.
I think I have less than a week of core coding left to do. After that is 1-2 weeks of revision and refinement. Next is 1-4 weeks of beta testing. Then finally, public launch.

AHHHHHH....look who's human...look who's human! I always suspected. ;P
You are doing a great job, but everyone deserves a little play time and you definitely do.
All work and no play scares the mice away...wait? Is that how it goes? :o/
Starcraft II sounds just the ticket. we can wait :)
EVERYTHING you have done to make this a better site is ALWAYS well worth the wait. Take time off to have some fun.
Bless you Cancer!
If I knew what the heck a Starcraft II was ... Heh.

After all you are as the rest, a mere human.. :)
, good luck with starcraftII. beta and all that jazz.
Glad to hear you're finally taking a break. Your nerves are probably shot from working that long on so much coding. Have fun with Starcraft
Im surprised your not just seeing streams over coding like the matrix, after you have done this, take yourself off somewhere nice! for a week.
a break is always needed lol
tried the Starcraft II, my friend has it, I will be a party pooper, but it did not impress me, then again I get bored easely, I play diablos2, waiting for diablos3.
Still not impress, but a good game to relax on
