Tis on this night
Not too long ago.
Warriors we did greet
Both young and bold.
They told of lands
And treasures there be,
Tis women they had
And castles to see.
They spoke of dragons
And the dangers unseen,
We all had to think
Twas this all a dream?
They told of an adventure
With one brave man
For the perils they faced
To the very end
They went into battle
Three against ten.
They knew not their fate
Or what it all meant
They heard cries of anguish
And saw flashing of metal
But soon the Heavens grew quiet
And all the dust settled.
There on the ground
Laid all of their foes
All accept one warrior
Which they all did know
He laid amongst the blood
And gore on the ground
No man did speak
Or whisper a sound
The land was silent
No creature did stir
They knelt beside him
To hear his final word
“The brothers would stand
Thru the thick and the thin
For on this day
I knew it would be my end.”
‘Do not worry,
For I’ll never die.
For wherever you go
I’ll be by your side”
Then he went quiet,
Out in the marred field
For the brothers lives
Had now been sealed.
Lady in Purple

A place set back,
Under trees so tall;
Blossoms of pink,
As spring did call
Place full of color,
Rainbow you can touch;
Beauty that’s untold,
Was to say too much
The house stood tall,
Majestic and white;
Roses in the courtyard,
Which added delight?
She moved about,
As a ghost it seems;
A model of elegance,
That comes in a dream.
She knelt there,
By the roses in bed;
All dressed in purple,
Long locks of red
A rose in hand,
Lifted to her nose;
Smelling the fragrance,
As if a love to hold
Skin was so fair,
Like a mid April day;
She hummed and sang,
Her thoughts carried away.
A bonnet was placed,
On top it would be;
Covering her face,
Not letting anyone see
The beauty beneath,
Which it may hold;
Mystery and grace,
Could not be told
Her fingers danced,
Over that single rose;
What she was thinking,
Who was to know?
She walked slowly,
In the courtyard with care;
Teasing the rose bud,
And the leaves it shared
The sky grew angry,
Made a thunderous roar;
The heavens lit up,
As it started to pour
Sweet gentle drops,
Fell from the sky;
Catching the breeze,
As out for a ride,
The lady in purple,
With dress all wet;
Looked to the heavens,
And would you suspect.
She did not run,
Away from the rain;
She stood and danced,
Like she has gone insane
She twirled and ran,
Giggled and laughed;
Like a kid at heart,
Not letting a moment pass
Fast as it came,
So did it end?
From behind the clouds,
The sun did send
Beams from the heavens,
That sparkled so bright;
Reflecting off the drops,
Like stars at night
Diamonds that shimmer,
Upon the leaves and trees;
Like some enchantment,
That happens in dreams.
The lady in purple,
Just looked around;
At all of the beauty,
That could be found.
Her hair was drenched,
Her gown felt cool;
She giggled at herself
For acting like a fool,
She slowly walked back,
In the courtyard square;
Towards the majestic house,
And the warmth in there
A man stood tall,
On the front porch step;
A smile on his face,
And so well kept
He had watched her,
As the rain set on;
Dancing and laughing,
Then was all gone
He did not speak,
As she drew close;
The grin on his face,
Her innocents were told.
Smiled at each other,
As he drew her in;
A sweet tender kiss,
A happiness within
He led her inside,
She under his arm;
He laughed out loud,
At all of her charm
The lady in purple,
A fable to say;
A love so endless,
In a special way
