It's such a shame that the town of Newton Stewart has become what it is today. There once was a time when you could walk about and enjoy the scenic beauty of the place and not even a slight frown would cross your face. Now, however, all that has changed, you can't even walk up the road from work through town without passing a used contraceptive that the scummier element has left on the pavement for all to see. It's a shame when you can't pass by the local pubs or even the rest areas for fear of ridicule or harassment by once again the undesirable element that loiters looking to cause trouble. Its a shame and sad truth that eventually most towns end up with a similar fate. The closing of the towns branch bank RBS I believe was the starting point and its replacement venue will see no end to the current state the town is in. If anything I believe it will increase it, not to mention the Gin shop that is now shamelessly plugging gin and pizza to the younger generation at cut prices. I think we all know where that will be heading. RIP Newton Stewart.
The second week back at university is going okay. I have been frequenting the library and coffee houses in true student style. I have had to make a lot of dietary changes and I am now dairy and gluten-free. It seems to be improving my overall health and my stomach woes. I am still eating meat but I may have to change my portion sizes for easier digestion and cut out any processed or formed meats :( This dietary plan is more expensive and I was shocked that a packet of dairy and gluten-free ciabattas cost over 2 pound :O Still it seems to working its magic! I have also upped my level of smoked salmon intake to around 300 - 400g a week, which has also had positive effects :)
