Burning Man

Wow! This looks to be an absolutely amazing experience....that I won't be at. The heat and I do not get along well together. (There are other reasons, but that's the big one!)

Can you tell that I just found the Burning Man section? It would be so incredible to be a part of this....for may 2 days. *grin* After that it would be too hot/cold/loud/crowded for my senses. *sigh* The inner geek/square comes out.

Didya'

22:39 Nov 29 2005
Times Read: 622

Didya ever have one of those days where EVERYTHING is to bright/loud/colorful/noisy - in short, it's all just to much, like you've been wrapped in lovely thick soft cotton and someone has cruelly removed it all. Today has been like that. And since my husband had decided to stay home today (I found at at 9:15 this morning) and my eldest threw up last night (he kept her home today) it's been system shock after system shock, when all I'd planned to do was sleep.... *sigh* I really hate chronic bad timing!

I'm almost to the 200 mark on the "Books" section of the database! And what do I find out? Sherrilyn Kenyon, author of the delightful Dark Hunter books also wrote the hideously done "Writer's Guide to Eveyrday Life in the Middle Ages." If ever a book should be burnt, this one is it. Read the novels, ignore her non-fiction. Please. It's just plain wrong, the information in that book.

Puzzled

Does anything make sense on Adult Swim? Am I too young or too old to get it? No, wait, don't answer that last question - It'll just depress me. 12 oz. Mouse is currently on and I honestly just don't get it. Maybe if I were high or drunk.....No, then I'd just be asleep....

Insert headline here....

Well, Thanksgiving here in the States has come and gone. Some of us had lovely times. Others wonder why the have families. I figured I was in for a regular ol' visit with the in-laws, but this year was different. We had a lot of fun. Then Friday headed up to meet my mother for lunch and then over to my grandmother's house for the night. I love visiting my grandmother. She'll be 82 in a couple of days and is really only now slowing down. May we all age like that!

The only downside, other than the two hour drive, is that my eldest daughter has strep. Yep, the drama queen was legitimately sick. We got her onto antibiotices Saturday evening and they have no school tomorrow. Hopefully Tuesday she'll be good to go, or I may be in the mental ward. *grin*

Hope those of you also celebrating this weekend didn't over do it too terrible much.

Busy Changes

Times Read: 626

Well, no excuse not to spend more time on the Rave again. We now have internet at the speed of cable. Wow. It is such a change from dial-up! To add the cherry on top, we bought a router and now have a wireless network in our house. I am so going to love this!

I've also bought a bike. You really don't forget how to ride one. That first ride after twenty years, with my daughters cheering me on in the background, was so freeing.

Okay, they are up and about, which makes it hard to concentrate on anything. I'll be on more later tonight or tomorrow. *sigh* Fairly guilt free internet surfing!
