Billythejust now has a bluesky account, follow if you like. Haven’t done anything on it yet. Didn’t on twitter either but …it’s out there. Fired up the Devils Forge and loved it. Melted aluminum cans without too much effort. The only trouble I had was with removing the slag, didn’t have a long enough ladle. Thought the dollar store spreader would serve since it was steel but…burnt the wooden handle and my new leather gloves. Ran in the kitchen for something long and came out with grill fork. I pinched the prongs closer together and it served for the project. Will need to order the correct tools for the job later. I was able to melt, then pour into my mold, so I was happy until the clay started burning, then the wood underneath. Guessing the metal was hotter than necessary, maybe. Wanted to make a replacement hook for work’s winter curtain to protect the plants from cold, and in the end, that’s want I got but wished I pour came out better. First pour, and first mold, and first design copy, the original broke, which lead me to this project in the first place. I just wish I didn’t have to do all the drilling and grinding. Anyway, got it done, installed and used it last night before the frost hit.
Cleared the back lot today. Cutting trees down next, I cannot stand trees with thorns. Will clean up and hit the ground with insecticide and weed killer afterwards. Then replant. Still making a list.
