After losing my Facebook profile last year (for having a fictitious name), I started a new one...
I couldn't access my original FB profile page or the email account associated with it anyway. Losing my original FB profile meant I (also) lost access to my FB page for my online radio program, Alaska After Dark... So, I made a new one!
I've logged back into my Live365 profile (online radio station), corrected a few things and am raring to go with broadcasting!
Right now, I'm looking for interviews from people in the VC.
So far, I've just played music and broadcasted a few original skits. I'm not sure how I'll handle the interview parts yet. I might just record the interviews and play them on selected days- I don't know... I just hope I get listeners. LOL
I’m listening to an online-radio program (that I participated in) that was promoting a friend’s event. This was first broadcasted months ago. It’s funny. I don’t remember half the things I said on this show… But then again, half the things that were said, I don’t remember happening.
What does that mean?
On the program, we were discussing all the things that were going to occur and/or be presented at this featured event. Well, a good portion of it didn’t come to pass (I know because I went to this premiere event). So I asked myself why…The only thing I could come up with was the lack of immediate funds. So much was spent on promoting the event and the advanced ticket sales were not covering them… I’m sure there were other factors involved. I’ve got a pretty good idea what they were (after all the online drama that was occurring months before the show).
So, it had me thinking about my own event.
An event I hope to host next year…
I don’t want to make the mistake of promising or promoting things that I won’t be able to present at my show. I want a strong core-krewe like my friend has. I want to establish strong connections for promotions. Here in Alaska, it’s hard to get willing support (especially when the vampire-themed genre that I want to promote is frowned upon). I think in order to sell my event, I will have to make it more palatable (so to speak). I’ve lived here (in Alaska) almost all my life and I don’t fit in. Not really.
I tried hosting an event last year and it didn’t go over as well as I wanted. Overall, it was quite a learning experience. This year, it may be even harder.
It’s funny how listening to this program led me to think about myself.

I just submitted my program "Alaska After Dark" in the VR Database (Internet Radio). :)
