I write this entry because I have managed to make time for myself as a prequel to my hospital appointment, my health seems to have taken another turn again. Making time for myself has always been an issue for me, I seem to always be able to make time for family and friends but when it comes to me, well, that’s another story.

When my daughter tells me a joke I automatically smile, not because the joke is funny but because of her expression of delight as she fumbles through the words eagerly wanting to reach the punch line to make me laugh. Inevitably I’ve heard the joke before but to see her face, for me that is priceless.



This week is her last week of school for summer break, two more days in fact, and then in September it’s off to the big school and a whole new adventure.

She will spend two weeks in the south of France, Nice, on the Mediterranean since she’s grown out of Disneyland in Paris for part of her break, I get to pay for her share but don’t profit from being with her. I miss that!

There can be satisfaction when ‘the bubble bursts’.



Here you’re seeing exactly that under perfect conditions. The perfect moment.



We all know the destruction and mess that will follow in the very next split second … even in life, it really doesn’t take much.

My cousin is having her first bbq of the season (today) and asked if I could go over and help the boys sort things out ....

So I did..



This is me working out the logistics of where to erect the gazebo







Then the actual bbq needed dusting off from cobwebs etc, that was hard work. He you can see me struggling with it.







And lastly the tables and chairs all needed hosing down. I volunteered and got a grip on it.







I love to help, I can't wait for them to ask me to help in the kitchen!

My daughter had her school report and Sat results today (Sats are a trademark used for a set of standardized college entrance examinations).



Her school report was exemplary, I expected nothing less. But what did surprise me was the SAT results ..



a 3 and below is a national standard that all eleven year olds should have.

a 4 is an expected standard for eleven year olds

a 5 and above are achievements above the standard



So her sats read ..



teacher expected a 5 in english and she got a five

teacher expected a 4 in maths and she got a four

teacher expected a 4 in science and she got a five



You have no idea how proud I am.

Is this a problem for VR's European members?

Every page that has a music player on it seems to crash Firefox. Not only that, but when it does eventually come alive none of the music players play, they just have a written warning that due to licensing restrictions some or all the tracks won't play...



..and that includes my own page!

The playlists are simply called playlist.com

I think this is the site that most members use

http://www.playlist.com/



I tried with I.E and that crashed too, at least I know it's not Firefox!

I have not encountered this problem before and it really is restricting me from rating.

i was gutted as i had hundreds of songs in mine

i have now got one from dizzler.com

so have my fellow uk friends on here

it is working fine for now at least...
