I was at friends last night for dinner.
It was a lovely evening then at about 8pm she told the kids to get ready for bed as it was ‘grown up talk time’!!
I’m a grown up? I never viewed me as being a ‘grown up’, when did that happen? I thought I was a person with childish intentions (that from my ex-wife. Always calling me a Peter Pan character).
I wanted to go with the kids and play with the toys …. But I seem to have grew up!
I should have paid more attention as I’d never have let that happen.
It’s official, I love pasta. When others comment that I eat a lot of pasta my normal reply is ‘’no, not really’' and shrug.
Thing is I just caught me eating pasta before I’d even poured any sauce (meat or otherwise) on it.
I will now have ‘pasta days’!

Here is to pasta hula hoops!
I want to thank everyone who has contributed.
It was Imagesinwords that turned the clock to level me up to the 20,000 honour points.
It really is incredible. Thank you all.

awesome
It was so cool to see an even number after my click :P
Congratulations :)
I read a lot of journal, and this morning was no different. I hit the ‘leave comment’ button more than once today and wrote a comment then deleted it and left that page.
Sometimes words really do diminish the feeling and sentiment that I feel and want to say. So I say and do nothing.
For my friends on here and some are members I have never spoken to, I really do wish you much luck, love and happiness, I really do root for you all in those dark moments or just when you need a bit of encouragement, and for those that have made me smile, thank you.
I don’t know if this is a failing in me but sometimes I really can’t find the words to type.

Words aren't always enough. That is the problem with this medium of communication.
So much can be said in a touch or a look. Words can diminish the true feeling of something you wish to express.
It is in no way a failing on your part.
Dont worry it happens to everyone, and the fact that you read the journal is enough foo, the fact that you are there I am sure it is apriciated and not only by me.
I know just how you feel BLOODLIFE.
I am here to tell you though ,it has nothing to do with any failings on your part.Sometimes just to see certain people come by,taking a minute out of their day to do so,is all thats needed.
Youre awesome,and everyone knows it.
I so get it. And the ones that you DO talk to on here and normally always comment on know that you are thinking of them nontheless and makes them smile. :)
I wouldn't perceive it as a failing.. Sometimes there are no words. :)
I know what u mean sometimes i feel the same way. :)
Sorry Em... :-p
An Irish woman is cleaning her husband’s rifle and accidentally shoots him.
She immediately dials 999.
Irish woman:
''It's my fooken husband! I've accidentally shot him, I think I've fooken killed him!''
Operator: ''Please calm down Mam.
Can you first make sure he is actually dead!''
.. *BANG*
Irish woman: ''Okay, I've done dat.................... What's next?''

Come on imagesinwords, sort that coding out as I want to see those Mardi Gras pictures.
In other news...
I have a home page on VR (well that's what I call it) where I ‘park’ myself when I’m idle. It use to be the message centre but now I leave it on the’ last ten’ page, then when I return I check to see if any new journals have been added or go on a mini tour of the site which inevitably takes in the main forum and I may have a nose to see who’s using a web cam then return to my last ten page again.
It’s a good habit as it means I’m turning pages and having time spent thrown in as a bonus.

If she doesnt fix it I wont live.
That's a very handy page..I use it a lot myself to.
I'm going to check if I they are there. I wonder what she tried to do!? LOL
The following is as seen on FB, after a poll revealed what our youth were giving up for Lent under this header:
"Lazy Christians Giving Up Facebook for Lent"
Lent begins today, commemorating the story of Jesus and some friends trapped in the desert, starving, hot, miserable, and tempted by Satan. A reminder of piety. It's also a depressing reminder of how cripplingly addicted we are to Facebook.
The idea behind Lent, if I've read this Wikipedia entry correctly, is giving up a vice (let's say, smoking, fatty foods, or booze) and adding an activity that brings you closer to God. Like, I don't know, helping deliver babies (???). But the giving up bit is what gets the most attention, as it's a lot easier to brag about your deprivations, particularly in the age of easy online sharing. But some quick searching shows that the best way our teens, tweens, and other American imbeciles can connect their lives to the Biblical suffering of Christ is to forgo Twitter or FB for a few weeks. Which is... sort of missing the point.
Last month we had snow. It took nearly a week to leave about three to four inches. Tonight we had snow but it took just two hours to leave the same amount. It’s stopped for now but I already know we will have trouble in the next day or two and worse if it doesn’t start again!
YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED
Be careful what you buy on eBay. If you buy stuff on line, check out the seller carefully.
A friend has just spent £95 plus VAT on a penis enlarger.
The bastards sent him a magnifying glass.
The only instructions said, "Do not use in sunlight."
To come to a realisation that words, whether spoken or written to someone are just still words. Sure they are powerful, wasn’t it once written that the pen is mightier than the sword?!
The thing is at the end of the day they are still only words.
I can admire a poet or a good story but that would be a personal opinion. I sometimes aspire to write like some people or say words that have that effect, some may call it deep and profound.
But still they are only words.
In my life I have had people speak of love and many other emotional feelings. They speak of forever and use the word eternal, always, and the like. But they are just words.
Or could it be that the occasion lends itself to these words?! Could it just be that it was the right thing to say at that time. Maybe we meant those words when we spoke them or wrote them.
Yes the pen is indeed a mighty weapon, especially if you stick it in someone’s eye!
Whenever you find yourself on the side of the majority, it is time to pause and reflect.

I’ve been volatile to say the least in recent days. I don’t really discuss my private life and I wont start now but enough to say roller coaster doesn’t really capture all my moods.
That said it was no surprise that I found myself crying whilst watching a film this afternoon, and such a late seasonal film too, the film, ‘It’s a Wonderful Life’. If you’re a collector of films then this is one that should be in everybody’s’ library.
It’s great when you can measure your wealth not by how much money you have but by the number of true friends in your life.
Fav quote:
George Bailey: What is it you want, Mary? What do you want? You want the moon? Just say the word and I'll throw a lasso around it and pull it down. Hey. That's a pretty good idea. I'll give you the moon, Mary.
Mary: I'll take it. Now what?
I use to think that parents who lead their kids down a forced path of education were being unfair. Just because the father/mother was a lawyer (or whatever) they would push there kid towards a career in law or whatever.
My daughter who is 14 has an appointment with a careers adviser soon and she has admitted to me that she still has no idea of what she wants to study and chase a career in and settle for the rest of her life.
Unfortunately it does seem unfair for a child to make this decision which will affect them for years to come if not for the rest of their lives.
As a father I have always dreamed and thought my kid would excel at whatever she set her heart on. I dreamed of her becoming a doctor etc but then that’s a fathers’ prerogative.
If I now push her down a route that ‘I’ feel is good for her and it’s not then I worry that I’ll lose her when she’s older and I will be blamed for ‘whatever’. I could still go this route and keep her in education for as long as I can or until she finds her feet a little better and has stumbles on a subject that she is more comfortable with and formulate a degree around that…!
She can always change the degree too but she would need to get her head around that as she may see it as failing. She has a network of support that starts with me and her mother so fingers crossed.
The point being I now have no problem with the parents who use hard love and push their kids towards academic achievement. Like I said they can always change careers if they are not happy with their lot. I suppose we could call these the challenges of life.

Maybe she should get a degree in being a dominatrix;)
xD jk jk jk jk jk heehee
Children/Teens etc will change their minds consistently, it's hard put to make them settle on anything. My children are in totally different careers then they had intended in the "early" years. I have never pushed them towards anything other than THEIR own interests. I also raised them to do things for themselves and not to try and please everyone else. That never ends well.
One of my biggest pet peeves is when you see a FB ‘share’ that challenges you. Share this if you believe in G-d or share this if you have/love your sister, brother, mother, father or child.
I don’t share these pictures or statuses, I don’t need to share as the people in my life get ‘told’ and quite regularly. It seems to be more prevalent among the young but I see all ages doing it.
People with problems with perhaps self esteem may post/share these things but really … wake up.
SHARE THIS IF YOU HAVE ISSUES!
