Elisabeth Sladen – Doctor Who’s Sarah Jane Smith – Dead at 63

She passed away two days ago of cancer….

I will miss her.

I remember her very first appearance with the doctor and her last when she guessed alongside David Tennant. Her time spent with U.N.I.T and of course her relationship with the whacky K-9 …. Yes, she will indeed be missed.

I had a big crush on her when I was a child, it is such a shame because she was such a wonderful woman.

I’ve seen the odd post here and there about the troubled Middle East. More to the point Israel!

The last twenty years has seen a shift in sympathy in the Middle East. More and more people now have sided with the Palestinian plight.

Israel were never going to have many friends in the world, and they may have done ‘some’ towards the damage that the world now sees but if the world just open it’s eyes a little wider and counted to ten before judging them…..

Last week it was reported that Israeli forces were, quote: ‘’at it again’’ in their bombardment on the west bank. The Israeli statement was swift as it simply said that it was in retaliation for a rocket that was fired at a civilian bus. There is a difference here though. Israel has only ever initiated attacks on soldiers, sure, civilians suffer (as always) even a soldier has a mother, brother, child!! But they have never attacked a civilian city directly.

Don’t get me wrong, I’m not an advocate of war or any violence for that but sympathy for Palestinian forces will only do more long term damage as shown with the sympathy for Israel.

Hmm just that most of the soldiers/freedom fighters/terrorists appear to be hiding in civilian houses as with most of these sorts of conflicts.
