YAY!



My husband was able to leave the base to go check on our house today. With the exception of our neighbor's mailbox in our front yard, everything was ok!



He forgot the keys so he couldn't go inside, but he looked in the windows and walked all around the house. While we still don't have power and don't expect to for 1 -2 weeks, everything was fine.



Thank you God. And thank you everyone for your prayers.

We left Saturday afternoon around 3:20. It took us 8 hours to get to the Alabama state line and another 2 1/2 hours to get 45 minutes past Pensacola. Basically it took just over 11 hours for a 3 hour and 45 minute trip before we stopped.





Thank God, my mom flew up on Thursday to drive down to FL with me and the kids. It would have been a complete nightmare without her.





We are in Ft. Lauderdale now. We got in about midnight.





Last contact I had with my husband was a text at 5:25 this morning. He was ok then. He had to stay on the base. The people that were left over on base Sunday morning were split into 2 groups. One that stayed and one that left. He stayed.

DAMNIT!



I hope everyone else is ok.

I am so glad to hear that you all are safe!



Also I was disappointed that I was "holed up" in the hotel as I was hoping to meet you if even briefly when I was in NOLA. You and your family will remain in my thoughts and prayers.
