Just had a grand thunderstorm. I love to watch them. I watched the anvil come over us, followed by the gust front. It looked like it was coming on really hard and strong, but had a relatively week gust front, at least for us, followed by intense rain, I was able to save the burgers on the grill. Hail to the south of us means we would miss any tornados. All is good now, sky is clear. It was a paper tiger.
Here I am, just sitting, everyone is gone. The kids are out and I'm by myself. The sun came out today, it was supposed to rain all day. I'm sitting in the kitchen, on my laptop, glass door open; it is in the 70's, nice spring breaze. We grilled out steaks tonite. It was nice. Sitting, having a beer. Listening to the birds outside, admiring the garden. This is sort of a stream of conscious entry, but hey, that is ok. Everything is good, by boss is on a cruise to Alaska, I'm relaxed.
My wife called worried about the new minivan getting hail damage in the storms, but no storms are on the horizon. Just happy for the nice day today. My son promised to mow grandma's yard tomorrow, my other son promised to mow our yard. We will see. Such is life. Promises easily made are easily broken. My neighbor instructed me in the ways of teenage mowing. He said that you can't always wait for the teenagers to do the mowing and have to do it yourself. Which I found to be true.
We went out for our anniversary last nite. Went to one of the best steak houses in town, the one we always go to for our special occasions. Hey, I live in Nebraska, all the steak houses are good and very reasonable. And besides, this is Warren Buffet's favorite spot. My wife's family has history with this place as done mine. We had our favorite waitress and it was a very nice evening. We stopped in the lounge afterwards for some live music and the waitress stopped by and sat down and we had a very nice chat. Good people work there. We had fun.
