Honesty, thats the truth. It is just to much of a liability. You are more then welcome to join the next VR event after you turn 18 - or perhaps Cancer would like to have one that is all ages - No alcohol involved at all.

ya i secound that i was a kid at one point in time and i drank behind the adults back and we would be in deep crap if cops cam with and there was a few drunk kids

well this I would agree it is too much of a lay abilty to risk everyone to be arrested for under age drinking and such. im sure this is the first of many VR offical meets and when the time comes for you to be after the age of 18. Then come on out and have a good time with the rest of us.

If the drinking is the problem then why is the age 18 I know I am from up north but isn't the drinking age 21.

Because SweetBlood, 18 is the legal age of "adults" in the US. They might not be able to drink, but legally it is no longer their parents or gardians that are responsible for their actions.

Now just imagine if the age was 21 how would you feel then? me myself am comfortable with that idea. Keep it legal and sleep easier.

All the cops in the area are going to be all over the hotel becasue we've sold it out for the event.

1. We have not sold out the hotel for this event.

2. The hotel does not notify the police station of their guets. There will be NO extra police around the hotel.

Of the 180 rooms there.. just how many did we manage to sell out for our group?

Also--not all but SOME hotels are kinda testy when it comes to groups who come and stay--especially when they do not book the entire hotel and there are other guests there--Is there any kind of hotel enforced 'curfew'??

sadly we didn't get as many rooms filled as we and I'm sure Cancer would have hoped for...

It's dumb how there are over 10,000 people on this site but only 28-29 are going to the meetup...

If you exclude all the ones under 18 that doesn't leave huge amounts... then the ones who are overeas and not willing to travel to the event (fortunately for me this coincided with plans I already had to visit the States)... everyone who's working on that weekend and can't make it... and the ones who just couldn't pull out their fingers in time to have final payment in... *shrugs* there's your 28 people! ;)

Well I was just wondering because I figure Z would have a more accurate count. I know it says there is only 28-29 ppl attending...but that doesn't account for VR members who are either 1) not wishing to be listed on the attending page, 2) those who are paying last minute and have not been added, and 3) those VR members who are comming for the events and not actually staying at the hotel

So I was just kinda curious how many ravers may actually be here. Was just looking for a ballpark figure.. :)

try to come to Canada it is easy to enter Canada if you got a paper stating you are coming for an event they let you in easely (contrary to the states whor equires a passport)

Still somewhat unfair, my parents were willing to go you know. They aren't close minded at all, there should be observation on who gets served alcoholic beverages in the area. I mean, even adults when tipsy, could do as stupid shit as the under aged. Drink responsibly?

Quite frankly, the age limit was set so that I am not liable for drunk minors having sex with legal adults.

As a mother, I would NEVER - take my minor child to an event like this. It is NOT minor appropriate.

No complaints here. You'd have to be mad to assume the responsibility of minors when they're being subjected to potential adult insaneness!

I think that having it set at 18 is very fair that way there are no issues. I wish that I could attend but i have prior obligations.

Of course I was heading over there anyways... and I have the ability to pay for an overseas trip too... helps. Lol.

It sucks but yes 18 and under can not go due to the fact of booze and stuff. Me personally can not go but it isnt a age issue it is more a work issue .

18 is the legal drinking age in LA.
That happens to be in America or the United States of America for those of you confused.
Hence the reason that we would prefer people to be 18 and up if attending instead of 21.

the legal drinking age across 99.99% of the US is 21.. and that is NOT why the age limit is set at 18.

People will be drinking. Drinking makes people do dumb things. Its a fact of life. The Age was set at 18 because that is the legal age of consent to have sex without the other person going to jail. To be purely blunt and crude - thats why it was set to 18. I dont want a call from the hotel in my room that someone was arrested from my group.

Now, can we drop it?
