THIS DATE AND SHIP HAVE CHANGED!
Due to redeployments of Carnivals Ships, and as new ones are entering the market.. The Gothic Cruise for 2009 will now sail out of Tampa FL for a 7 night Western Caribbean Cruise on the Carnival Legend on October 11 2009.
So.. the ports are: Grand Cayman, Cozumel, Belize, and Roatan. Grand Cayman will be a new port of call for the gothcruise!
If you have ever sailed on the gothic cruise.. your deposit is 50.00 per person with 100.00 off per person. But you have to book by October 20th 2008 to get it. Yes, you can book with me anytime during the 2008 Gothic Cruise.
If you put down a minimum deposit of $50.00 - you will NOT get a cabin assignment. Carnival will not assign cabins until your deposit reaches $250.00 per person.
The $50.00 per person deposit does not apply to Category 9A Extended Balconies, the 11 Jr Suites, or the 12 Penthouse Suites. You have to put down the full $250.00 per person on those categories. You DO still get the $100.00 off per person.
As gothic cruisers, ya'll get first dibs on the best cabins. Feel free to tell your friends.. etc. but flyers, posters, magazine ads, etc.. wont be made till later. The bands are of course, updating their sites. Mine will be updated asap to reflect the pricing for 09 and the new ship, the Carnival Legend - which is along the same prices as this year. (our taxes went up though.. )
Again, you have to book by October 20th 2008 to get the discounts.
Now, about the Carnival Legend. The Carnival Legend is a spirit class cruise ship. She has 12 decks with over 12 bars onboard. Her onboard theme is Myths and Legends. So her onboard decor is suited. (Medusa's Lair Disco, Club Merlin (Casino), Firebird Lounge, Holmes Library, etc). On this ship the Balcony cabins sart on deck 4. On decks 4 and 5, I have blocked ALL inside and outside cabins from the Aft elevators all the way back. The wrap around balconies on this ship are category 11 Jr Suites. The 9A extended balconies will not be offered, as they are smaller balconies and are right up against the elevators.
On deck 1, we have blocked all the insides and outsides right in front of the Lounge for our 1am to 4am parties.
Deck plans for this ship are at: http://www.carnival.com/Deck_Plan.aspx?shipCode=LE
You can take a virtual tour of the ships, staterooms and public areas at: http://www.carnival.com/cms/fun/ships/carnival_legend/default.aspx?shipCode=LE

Great news! the prices for the 2009 Gothic Cruise dropped by an average of $50.00 per person!
The website has been changed to refelct the new pricing. We have a ton of new categories too!
www.allgenretravel.com
Because of the design and size of this ship, we will be AFT Stacking the cabins instead of focusing on just one deck.
What this means is that I have all Cabins - inside and balconies from the furthest Aft (rear) elevators, all the way back on decks 4 - 7.
Also, I have all JR Suite wrap around balconies on decks 4-8 including the extended regular balconies between them on the back of the ship.
On this ship, you want the category 11 Wrap around balconies (these were the 9A on the Glory). Stay clear of the 9A's! On this ship, the 9A's are right up against the elevators!

I really really hope that I make it through t he 2008 cruise without getting too seasick! I love modulate, but I don't want to commit to another week off land until I know I can handle it (the last cruise I went on was not the most pleasant experience, but I was also sober the whole time).
I'd love to see an on-land version - y'know, do the all inclusive resort thing. I'm not sure how well that would work with all of the events, but it's definitely my favourite kind of vacation...
I too would love to have this type of event held on land land at an all-inclusive resort.
Yes, A land meeting would be awesome...now to be able to save up for it and get the time off *smiles*
okay.. blonde moment and Im at work.. perhaps too many hours staring at the damn screen but did you say the date has changed as well?
Which lounge is it that we'll be using for the club nights?
And is it correct that we'll be dining with the earlier, rather than the later dinner seating?
The nightly parties will be held in the Firebird lounge, which is nonsmoking. there is a smoking lounge just outside the firebird that the ship will keep open for us smokers.
Dinner was changed for this cruise to 6pm. This was to avoid conflicts with the concert schedules, port times, and dinner. Remeber, you can always use room service or one of the buffett's if this is to early or you get hungry later.

i'm not excited for non smoking.. boo.. its such a novelty
yay! non-smoking club! it's not that I don't sympathize with the smokers - but I find that in smoking venues, people tend to always have a cigarette burning, even though they only take maybe two or three drags from any given cig... and I can't count the number of times I'd come back to a table to find two or three cigarettes merrily burning away in the ashtray - while their owners were off dancing or wandering about. the sheer wastefulness of this almost makes me more irritable than the amount of smoke it produces :p
I think it will work out being nonsmoking. the smoking area is really close by for one.. and it will be a nice change for the nonsmokers.. generaly our club nights are in smoking lounges because we are normaly on the larger ships. the Legend is a bit smaller of a ship but it was an emergency substitution given Carnival had redeployed the Glory.

It will be all good.
new bars, new lounges, new ports.
I am getting to excited all ready
Difficulties on my part...I tend to have a smoke in my hand while DJ'ing :)
Sorry DJ Evelfaery,
The firebird lounge is nonsmoking.

I guess I will live...only if Jon keep a steady IV of alcohol running through me :)
