Believe it or not, there are many locations around the world which are rumored to lead to hidden subterranean realms. This idea is what is referred to as Hollow Earth Theory. Hollow Earth Theory is the theory that the earth is either entirely hollow or is honeycombed with an elaborate network of caverns and tunnels which house civilizations or alternate realms. Mt. Shasta in Northern California is rumored to lead to a subterranean civilization of Lemurians. Blowing Cave near Cashman, Arkansas is also rumored to lead to gloomy subterranean caverns filled with giant serpents, giant hairy humanoids, giant insects, and even an advanced ancient nonhuman civilization. The hypogeum of hal-saflieni on the island of Malta is rumored to have once led to similar places with legends of people encountering bizarre beings and even a story of a group of children, school teacher, and guide going missing after a passage under the island collapsed trapping them. For weeks afterwards it was rumored that people on the island heard mysterious screams coming from within the island. Archeletta mesa north of Dulce, New Mexico is also rumored to be the site of a subterranean alien/government base where horrific animal/human/alien DNA experiments are carried out along with other supernatural experiments. I could keep going on forever listing locations that these subterranean worlds are rumored to exist, but you get the point. The truth is, we know very little about the planet's interior. But it is just a theory that these places exist, nothing has ever been proven and the scientific community today consider this notion to be pseudoscientific and conspiracy theories. But it'd be pretty cool to have a real "Journey to the Center of the Earth" adventure.
During the reign of Hitler, it was a widespread belief that the true Aryans/Nazis lived at the centre of the world. As the above poster has mentioned, there are various places around the world that are rumoured to contain the special beings (Aryans) who live there.
If my trip become a success to Kailash, I will also take a short plunge in the nearby, highly sacred (and very cold) Lake Manosaravar. The word 'manas' means mind or consciousness; the name Manosaravar means Lake of Consciousness and Enlightenment. Adjacent to Manosaravar is Rakas Tal or Rakshas, the Lake of Demons. Pilgrimage to this great sacred mountain and these two magical lakes is a life changing experience and an opportunity to view some of the most magical scenery on the entire planet. Although people have so far not been successful in climbing the revered Mount Kailash, yet the mountain strangely changes the target location to those who want to climb it. Subsequently, numerous expeditions have failed to climb its summit, as Mount Kailash changes the tracks position in the opposite direction. Another mistery is the the rapid aging of those who are near it. By the way, how quickly grow hair and nails can be assumed that the 12 hours spent near Kailash, equal to two weeks in normal conditions.
What you are referring to sounds more like a different yet similar take on the fabled city of Shambhala.
