While originally airing on CBS, Supergirl leaped a tall building and came to rest comfortably on The CW along with the other shows of the Arrowverse. While not initially being advertised as part of it, it officially became a part of the Arrowverse when Barry Allen jumped from Earth One to Earth 38, as Supergirl's Earth would come to be known.

Arriving on Earth decades after her cousin, Superman, Kara Danvers comes as a young girl. She spends a decade living on the planet with her adoptive family, concealing her powers. It is only when her adoptive sister's life is threatened that she begins to use her powers, quickly finding within herself the desire to do as her cousin Kal-El did.

Joining the D.E.O where her sister works, she quickly begins to protect her city, both from domestic and alien threats against it. Along the way she quickly gains allies in the form of Jimmy Olsen and J'onn J'onzz, the Martian Manhunter.

Supergirl would take the third spot in the Arrowverse, alongside DC's Legends of Tomorrow. As of 2017 it is currently in the third season of the show.
