"Greetings Earthlings,
this project and group of songs represent my rebirth and the freedom to compose my true thoughts and soul messages. This is POST MILLENNIUM ROCK at its beginning, coming out of its chrysalis and stretching forth it still moist wings. This is a completely independent production, and was subject only to the laws of itself and its inspiration."

Sananda Francesco Maitreya (born Terence Trent Howard, March 15, 1962), better known by his former stage name Terence Trent D'Arby, is an American singer-songwriter who came to fame with his album Introducing the Hardline According to Terence Trent D'Arby, released in July 1987, which included the singles "Wishing Well" and "Sign Your Name". The album has sold over 12 million copies.
For Maitreya, it is a step into new directions. Firstly, the album was released only as an Internet download. Secondly, it introduces a more organic, stripped-down sound, quite different from his earlier albums that had heavily taken advantage of electronic equipment.
This album was released together with volume II as a limited double CD release in 2007, the double set is only available on his official website and during concerts.
