Poetry is everywhere.

From grain, to pebble, to stone, to mountain.

From clouds, to rain drops, to rivers, to sea.

From blood, to flesh, to body.

Poetry is in nature.

In the breeze that cools against the warm, blazing sun

In the waves crashing against the sandy shore.

To the dew covered leaves in the cool, green shadow of the trees.

Poetry is everywhere.

In the air we breathe.

In our thoughts.

In the words formed by the abc’s.

We grow up surrounded by poetry.

Surrounded by the rhythm of music.

The drip drop of the rain

Of the wind rustling the tree’s leaves.

We only have to listen.

We know from the moment we are born about poetry.

We just don’t know its name.

We don’t know many things.

I don’t know many things

But I want to.

I want to learn

And I want to know.

Most importantly I want to understand

Be it in English.

Or in some other language.

I want to open up all my senses.

I want to see, feel, and hear everything around me.

But most importantly,

I want to have a voice.

I want to be strong,

And a tongue or pen can be sharper than a sword.

Words are stronger than blows.

If I can’t sharpen my tongue.

If I can’t raise my courage to speak,

Then I will write.

I will write until I have said all things unsaid.
