While I appreciate the sentiment, I have a point of disagreement regarding being 'born' a vampire vs 'becoming' one.

It really comes down to what you can define as vampiric.

If, as is the common acceptance, a vampire is a being that takes it's sustenance from another in order to continue existing, with that sustenance at it's basest form being energy, then an examination of the root cause(s) is required to truly understand it. There is a wide latitude to look at those who for whatever reason, intentional or not, have suffered some sort of damage to their energy system, creating a need to bring in additional energy in order to mitigate the effects of said damage.

In these cases, it is feasible to hypothesize that intentional manipulation of a person's system, chakra or other components, could lead to a situation where the result is effectively the creation of a vampiric being.
