Many people believe the world will end on Dec. 21, 2012. I find the whole "end of the Myan calendar" thing very fascinating. So, if the world is going to end in 4 years, which I know will go by really fast, what do I wanna do with that time? Wow! nothing comes to mind. I have no great 'thing' I want to accomplish. I don't really wanna 'see' anything in particular. Hmmm? I guess I just wanna be with my family. If I could have everyone around me in the end it will be ok. I have had a good life, and the idea of growing old and becoming sick and frail scares the shit out of me. I guess I'm ok with the whole 2012 thing. I am almost looking forward to it.
I dragged out my holiday decorations this week-end. I think it looks very festive now. It's amazing how some garland, balls, lights, and knick-knacks can get you in the holiday spirit. I didn't put up the tree yet. I'll do that tomorrow. I have the perfect spot all picked out and I know it will be pretty.
Here is proof that I haven't always been fat and lazy. I played softball for the Ledyard Gators in Ledyard, Ct. My dad was one of the coaches. He is younger in this pic than I am now. Wierd.
I met Alison in the 5th grade. She was my first best friend. I moved away from her when we were in 7th grade. We had managed to visit each other a couple times and kept in touch for many years. Unfortunatly, in our adult lives we drifted apart. But, all that has changed. Alison found me! We have caught each other up and plan to keep it up. I have said it before, I'll say it again...Thank God for the internet!
For the last few years my dad has been playing Santa for his community. My sister made him a beautiful costume of red velvet and white fur. It is just georgous! He has also been letting his hair grow for 2 years now. He has a long full beard and wavy locks, both of which are silvery white. He really fits the part. To make sure his hair is as white as possible he came into my salon today and I ran a white toner through it. It really evened out the silver in his hair and took out the little bit of yellow he still had . The shine was incredible and after a nice clean up trim he was looking very .... jolly. So I put a little curl into his hair for the finishing touch and we were ready to go out to dinner. We went to a buffett and you should have seen the reaction he got from kids and adults alike. It must have been really cool to see the real Santa out like a regular person.... eating and stuff. It was so fun. I know I was just beaming too. My Dad is Santa Claus. I'll have to get a pic of him fully dressed up.
