zombies as undead flesh eaters.

Zombies are undead like vampires but do not feed on blood or have any powers except immortality which is only active as long as the brain is still intact. Zombies feed on meat, mostly humans or whatever they can catch though it is sometimes said that they do not need to eat anything to survive but it is simply part of their basic instinct that every creature follows.
these Zombies have common traits with each other in different films namely an infectious bite, slow-moving and nearly unkillable to anything except a head shot and even in some films that proves ineffective.

The Night of the Living Dead and its sequels.
Resident Evil.

Shaun of the Dead.
Angel. (though some intelligent zombies appear and a bite does not cause zombification)
The Walking Dead.

Zombies as slaves.
some zombies are simply people resurrected by voodoo magic to work as slaves, sometimes its used as punishment for the person's misdeeds.

Zombies as rampaging living people.
In the Film 28 Days later and its sequel, the antagonists are normal and alive people infected with something called rage and those infected are in a permanent homicidal Rage with no purpose other than to kill and infect. these "zombies" are quite vicious as seen in the sequel when Don, the first to be infected, kills his wife by punching her multiple times and then gouging out her eyes. they can be killed easily but the blood and saliva is very infectious, inducing rage within seconds of infection.

Reavers.
in the film Serenity and the tv show firefly, Reavers are humans and are extremely violent and aggressive, they rape and eat people, the only sign of remaining intelligence is that they can fly ships and use weapons but other than that they are similar to the ones of 28 days later.

Zombies that are the result of possession.

Ghosts of Mars.
these are not truly Zombies but their behavior is very similar to zombies. They are humans that have been taken over by the spirits of Martians. they self mutilate and act as a vicious tribe who declare war on the humans, when one of these "zombies" are killed, the spirit leaves the body and will possess another person.

The Evil Dead.
The Zombies here are called Deadites and are the result of a human being possessed by a kandarian demon that roams forests. Deadites can talk, run and fly and have a very sadistic sense of humour, they enjoy tormenting Ash such as taunting him, beating him rather than outright killing him. its unknown if a bite from a Deadite will turn a human but when ash got his hand bit by his possessed (Linda)girlfriend's severed head, his hand gets black veins all over it and becomes possessed, Linda herself becomes possessed when she gets stabbed in the ankle with a pencil by a Deadite.

Zombies caused by a natural disease that was mutated.

I Am Legend.
The Zombies here have a little vampire in them as they are attracted to blood and burn in sunlight, they are still alive but move in inhuman ways and have an increased strength and durability. the zombie also called DarkSeekers were caused by a altered disease which was designed to benefit mankind but instead nearly wiped most out and turned the rest into DarkSeekers.

Zombieland.
Zombies here are caused by mad cow disease and follow the basic rules for Zombies, except they can run and are fooled by undead make-up as Bill Murray apparently plays golf with no trouble from zombies because he acts like one, however his zombie make-up lead to his death at the hands of a human who thought he was a real zombie.

In the film shaun of the dead, humans who act like zombies can apparently fool them and it seems they also retain some memory as at the end, one plays a video game with the protagonist.
