The music you are listening to is my rendition of Iggy Pop's "The Passenger". I will try to change the song out from time to time.
Now, what kind of hostess would I be if I didn't properly introduce myself?
Hang on tight as I take you on a quick journey through my life.
We must set the "way back machine" for the year 1967.......
I was born in Minneapolis. Mn. and spent my first couple of years in Superior, Wi.
Forward to 1976.....
Here I am with my little sister. I spent most of my childhood with long hair, big teeth, and glasses. I was often compaired to Amy Carter.
Onward to 1981...
I was a huge KISS fan in my teenage years. Paul Stanley was my favorite.
Jumping to 1986...
I became interested in theater in my late teens. I have been in many stage productions. My first major role was 'Cherie' in "Bus Stop" .
Zooming to 1990...
While living in Karlsrhue, Germany I was part of an American theater group. Here I am as 'Clelia Waldgrave' in a production of "The Nerd".
This was the happiest day of my life. My mother-in-law made my dress. Sabastion made my bouquet. He used silk flowers and sprayed them with lilac oil. They still smell of lilac.
Next stop, Y2K...
I have changed my hair color many times through the years. This was a very pretty dark red. I thought it was kind of pretty, and wore it for a while.
I update my portfolio every time I change my color. So if you want to see me blond, red, or even black and pink, check out the pics in my portfolio.
Well, that was my past. You may ask, "But, who is MoonMystic now?" . Continue reading this 'self-indulgent' profile, and find out.......
I am very artistic . I don't paint, draw or sculpt in the traditional sense, but I create living art. I am a Master Stylist. I have a full cosmetology license and certifications in many other cosmetic areas, with over 3700 hours of education under my belt, and over 18 years of practical experance.I have done just about everything in this field at some point in my career; hair, skincare, body treatments, nails, piercing, tanning, theatrical hair and makeup, even some special effect make up. I pretty much do anything that changes a person's appearence (just short of surgery). My work has appeared in 'Inspire', and I have won a few awards for my platform work. I'm one of those lucky people who has had a creative outlet turn into a lucrative career..
Wait...I'm not done tooting my own horn
I have been lucky enough to be born to parents who encouraged me to follow my love for the arts. When I told them I wanted to sing and act they never told me that was a stupid dream. They were always front and center for every recital, play, concert, and gig. Thanks to them I have performed in many stage productions (both in the States and in Europe), I have sang with award winning choirs, and I rocked a few bars with a couple bands. I have done these cool things for a living. Thanks Mom and Dad for helping me realize I really can do what ever I want to do in life.
I am an "out of the broom-closet" witch. I have always been connected to nature, for as long as I can remember. I am a solitary practitioner of magik, but, I'm not opposed to gathering with other Pagans for celebrations. I am an ecletic Pagan, but use a lot of the Wiccan traditions and rituals.I am a firm believer that knowledge is a great foundation for faith, but spirituality comes from within. I think that if your religion, philosophe, faith, or lack of ,works for you then Blessed Be! I really don't like when politics gets wrapped up in it. Seperation of church and state...remember that?
As you may already know, I am married to the love of my life; Sabastion. He is everything love is supposed to be.There are a few nice pics of him in my portfolio. Yes, I love that man of mine. Be sure to visit him, he is very interesting and captivating.
Sabastion
I have a wonderful and supportive family. They are goofy too, check out the pic in my portfolio. I grew up a Navy Brat, so we moved around a lot. It was hard sometimes (I went to 3 different high schools) Dad was gone for long periods of time, (I don't know how my Mom did it) but I never wanted for anything. I have a sister, Jill. She is 4 years younger than me, and the best gift my parents ever gave me. Moving around was a lot easier knowing my best friend would be there with me. I know, sappy sappy blah blah, but it's true.
I am "mama" to a 5 year old chocolate cocker spaniel named "Moka". No, I didn't misspell mocha. Her spelling is the feminine form of the Hawaiian derogatory word "Moke" and roughly means "dirty girl". I'll post some more pics of her in my portfolio, 'cause thats what proud mamas do. Besides, she is so damn cute.
I live in the middle of the desert. We do have a lake, but it's still the desert. It gets to be around 115 *F and sometimes as high as 128*F. I often ask myself "Why do I live here?". There are some things to be said for the pretty view though. These pictures were taken from my front porch:
I generally get along with everyone. Of course there are things I dislike about some spicific people or situations, but I'm pretty much a pacifist. Growing up a Navy brat allowed me to experance many different cultures and ethnicities and develope an appreciation for diversity. I have lived as a minority and that taught me tolerance. Life is to short to pass up any chance to make a friend.
Life is suposed to be fun ...enjoy it while you can with whoever you can.
I love Urban Legends. I like the scary ones the best, but find all of them fascinating. I love listening to a person retell one and swear it's true. "really, it happened to my brothers- friends -sister." I like to research them. I like to see the changes made to them over the years. I like how they will resurface after a long period of time. If you like them too, check out the link to snopes urban legend archives.
....it isn't muggers you have to worry about in strange cities, it's kidney thieves.
I have a morbid sence of humor. I'm the girl who laughs in the movie theater when someone gets eviscerated by the big dumb guy in a mask. I have found that there are many others who share my sence of humor, and many sites to feed my addiction to it. I love Chopping Block! Go check out the link to their site.
Go, now. I'll wait.
I am not a sporty girl, but I am trying to get in better shape. I go up and down with my weight (like so many of you), but try not to stress over it. I just want to live a healthy life. I find walking to be my favorite form of exercise.
I know I said I try to remain calm, cool, and peaceful. But, there is one thing I have been finding less and less tolerance for...Bad Drivers. They make me crazy. The majority of people in this town are very lucky I don't have a "ray gun".
If you see this in your rear view mirror...best to just pull over.
As I have mentioned , I am a master stylist. I have been in this business for about 20 years. So, the following is added to this profile because it is something I really believe in:
I give a 15% discount to anyone who cuts 10" or more of their hair, and donates it to this cause. Ask your stylest if their salon accepts donations to "Locks of Love". Check out the link to their websight.
People ask me where the name "MoonMystic" came from; here's the story:
When I was a kid, Mattel came out with the 'Guardian Goddess' dolls 'MoonMystic' and 'SunSpell'. For christmas one year I got the MM doll and my sister got the SS. We loved those dolls, but alas, we grew up and they were lost. Ya know how some toys from our childhood are always special? That's how MoonMystic is to me and I grew to wish I still had her. Now, almost 30 years later, thanks to EBay and a wonderful sister, for christmas this year (2005) I got my wish. JillMarie gave me a very fond piece of my childhood.
Mattel's Guardian Goddess: MoonMystic

And now it's time for something completely different:
Tim: There he is!
King Arthur: Where?
Tim: There!
King Arthur: What? Behind the rabbit?
Tim: It *is* the rabbit!
King Arthur: You silly sod!
Tim: What?
King Arthur: You got us all worked up!
Tim: Well, that's no ordinary rabbit.
King Arthur: Ohh.
Tim: That's the most foul, cruel, and bad-tempered rodent you ever set eyes on!
Sir Robin: You tit! I soiled my armor I was so scared!
Tim: Look, that rabbit's got a vicious streak a mile wide! It's a killer!
Sir Galahad: Get stuffed!
Tim: He'll do you up a treat, mate.
Sir Galahad: Oh, yeah?
Sir Robin: You mangy Scots git!
Tim: I'm warning you!
Sir Robin: What's he do? Nibble your bum?
Tim: He's got huge, sharp... er... He can leap about. Look at the bones!
King Arthur: Go on, Bors. Chop his head off!
Sir Bors: Right! Silly little bleeder. One rabbit stew comin' right up!
[after Bors is killed by the killer rabbit]
Tim: I *warned* you, but did you listen to me? Oh, no, you *knew*, didn't you? Oh, it's just a harmless little *bunny*, isn't it?
I am a firm believer of the power of laughter, so, I hope you enjoy the following funnies. They are mostly snagged from the web...mostly.
Well, I guess that pretty much wraps up the condenced version of my essence. You can get a little more of a feel for me by checking out my portfolio. It is full of pics I either took or am in. I would like to say you can get deep into me by reading my journal, but the truth is I am very lazy where that is concerned. It may have a few things that will make you smile, but my pearls of wisdom are few and far between. Thanks for stopping by. Hope to see you again.
The following additional pictures are some of my past avatars. I like changing them out once in a while to show the many aspects of myself.
