A vampire is simply a human being with the desire/need to take energy from his/her surroundings to use for his/her own well being or purpose. A vampire is not special or supernatural, nor can they be logically proven to come from a special place beyond worlds, or be reincarnated from anything inhuman.
There are some, seeking perhaps fame or attention, or maybe just acting on feelings and dreams, who would claim that a vampire is more than human. I respect that thought, but it is more logical to assume it is a phenomenon brought about by many other circumstances such as literature, occult practice, television, gaming, social image, longing for a social status, etc.
In a world rapidly turning away from blind faith, many are still clinging to forms of religious habit such as the belief in a supernatural power of vampirism. The irony in the act is that many of those who cling to the ideas behind it also laugh off christianity because of its qualities of blind faith.
It is time to come to reality and embrace the qualities in the vampire culture without the threat of hypocrisy.
