The principalities and powers are demonic forces that usurp and rule over humanity and the nations. They were interposed with the fall, and continue in their influence till this day. The Principalities preside over the spheres of angels and charge them with administering the duty of the divine ministry.
Their duty is said to be to carry out the orders given to them by the higher sphere angels. Their task is to oversee groups of people and theologically, they are deemed to be the educators and guardians of this world. They are believed to inspire all earthlings to many things, such as the Arts and Sciences.

In 1613, a man by the name of Sebastien Michaelis had written a book titled, "Admirable History", which included a classification of demons as was narrated to him by the demon named, Berith, when he was exorcising a nun:

Cornelius Agrippa created several classifications for demons in De occulta philosophia (1509-1510). Oriens (East), Paymon (west), Egyn (North) and Amaymon (South) being based on the number four and the cardinal points and the given classifications are the “ruling demons” and again appear in Semiphoras and Schemhamforas.
Afterwards Cornelius Agrippa created another classification system based on the number 9. False spirits, Spirits of lying, Vessels of iniquity, Avengers of wickedness, Jugglers, Airy powers, Furies sowing mischief, Sifters or triers, Tempters or ensnarers.
In 1589 a man by the name of Peter Binsfeld created a classification list based on the “seven deadly sins” of evils. Without doubt this is a rather simplified variation but could be considered useful none-the-less.
Pride, Greed, Lust, Envy, Gluttony, Wrath, and Sloth.
This could make much sense when you consider the types of demons that are most commonly referred to in religious regards. It’s been said that many demons will, in essence, focus on one of these when attempting to corrupt a human.
Taken from the Old Testament, supposedly written by King Solomon, it describes demons who were enslaved by the King to help build the temple. He included how to get the upper-hand on them, answers to their questions, and a sort of self-help manual against demonic activity. I wanted to include this here for the sheer reference. This is most likely some of the oldest known writing on demons known to exist and while no exact classification system may be given it can provide insight into their nature and allow you to work out your own conclusions in regards to the types of demons that may exist.

This Banishing ritual is effective as it enables control and cleansing of the being who performs it. The Banishing ritual gets rid of unwanted aggression or spiritual obstacles. It is advised to be performed at the beginning and end of every rite, as an appropriate closing, to get rid of any negative energy that lurks.
Facing the East, envision a light radiating from the center of your body. Touch your forehead and recite:
"By the light of Lucifer, born of my desire for the achievement of becoming, open the gates of the dead to protect my body and spirit!"
Facing the North, visualise the earth opening around you, shielding you from external entities. Touch your forehead and recite:
