I'm a Uni student double majoring in English and Linguistics, with a minor in History and near-fluency in both German and Spanish. My classes bore me at times, but I like the freedom of exploration that university life gives me. It's quite the experience, and it's taught me a lot about myself. Mostly, that I'm drawn to alternative lifeforbiddens rather societal norms.
I'm not entirely sure why I'm here. I suppose it's to learn -- about myself, others, and whatever else may come.
I hold a firm belief in a dualistic world. There's the neat, scientifically accountable reality that presents itself readily to human sense, and then there's an abstract, opaque reality that's tough to grasp, but easy to feel. A physical and an astral plane.
I hold a strong conviction that this astral plane is as important -- if not more important -- than the physical plane. My mind inhabits the astral plane, and since I believe that the mind is the true core of a person, it comes to bear that the astral plane is tantamount. I've had brushes against totally foreign consciousnesses, friends, relatives, past and maybe future lives. Some dark things that I have no inclination to revisit.
I believe that vampirism, especially the form I most identify with, stems from the astral plane. It represents a need to connect and feed off the energy around you, and identify with the plane that you originate from but cannot see. This manifests in a physical hunger, as that is all the mortal body can comprehend.
I am here to understand how I manifest on that plane -- in essence, to come to a fuller understanding of myself. I think this site may help me immensely in that pursuit.
I'd like to make friends, and I'm an open person, so feel free to talk to me. I'm not interested in roleplaying, but I'd love to talk about pretty much anything. On a less philosophical note, I love fanfiction and Criminal Minds, as well as Supernatural and the Walking Dead. I read extensively and play Halo and Pokemon quite a bit, and generally consider myself a nerd. I'm pretty interested in alternative sexualities as well, as that's a portion of what I'm studying in Uni, so feel free to talk on that end as well.
