My name is Garrett Zephyr. I'm a writer, or at least I am attempting to become one. My preferred genres include romance/erotic, science fiction, and fantasy.
I might as well start out with a few things about myself, the better to know me, right? I currently live on a family farm in the state of Virginia. I've lived here my entire life, and can honestly say I prefer the wildness of the outdoors to the ways of the city.
I enjoy the rustle of the leaves, and the flow of water from our nearby creek. At times it is perfect to just wander off into the mountains and lose oneself in nature.
I can safely say my personal likes and dislikes are roughly the same as most peoples. I enjoy music, especially pieces without lyrics, as these help my mind to work while writing. Often times when I am stuck, if I turn on a selection of my music, the writing will begin to flow like an avalanche.
For relaxation, my tastes in music are all across the board. I like electronic/techno, country, rock, pop, j-pop/j-rock(though I don't as yet speak or understand the language), metal(primarily Dragonforce at this phase of my evolution), and finally songs performed by the group Celtic Woman.
In my down time, I am engaged in various pursuits, whether it be keeping up with a favorite television program, listening to music, or interacting with a video game.
While I am a person of the outdoors, I find that sports simply doesn't interest me, although I do enjoy watching the occasional WWE wrestling match.
My reason for joining the Dark Network, well to be perfectly honest I fell into it. I'm not getting any younger, and for years people have been telling me I am a good writer in the erotic genre.
To that end, I recently decided to buckle down and start trying to earn some income from it. I was looking online for places to blog, as a form of advertisement and to have a sense of community. This is how I stumbled upon Bloody Feather, and subsequently the rest of the Dark Network.
I have had a thing for vampires for some time now, and for most of the supernatural forces out there. It has only been in the past year or so that I became more heavily involved in reading romances novels based around these topics.
My current favorite authors are Christine Feehan, Christina Dodd, Charlaine Harris, Laurell K. Hamilton, and a number of others. If my writing were judged even half as good as I feel about these ladies, I would be happy.
Religiously I'm a pagan, because the mainstream stuff just doesn't appeal to me, for a variety of reasons. I'm fairly laid back about most things, though certain things can quickly raise my ire.
I'm somewhat new to this, having never had a blog before. My excuse in the past was that I never really know what to say in something like this.
That, and dialup internet, has kept me mostly away from things such as Twitter and Facebook, which aren't very friendly when it comes to slower internet connections.
I believe that is enough about myself, I hope to expand further using the blog sections made available in my journal. In the coming weeks, I even hope to have some introductions to the setting I am in the process of creating.
