My breath catches in my throat.

I break out in a light sweat.



I can smell his scent on the air

Taste him already on my tongue

A spicy tingle meant only for me



My fingertips rush down my own body

Lingering in the cloth of my skirt

Fisting it and twisting, remembering...



My eyes close and my heart skips a beat

Throwing my head back, hair flying behind me

Curls tangled in the wind,

Too late to turn around,

Too late to run back home.

Though broken as it was,

It was where your spirit roamed.



The tides of black waters you crawled through,

To get to where you are now.

It left you drained and broken,

On the drifting siren's bow.



But you have to move on,

You have to keep going

Or you will kill millions of lives,

Without you even knowing.



Wake from your slumber child,

Don't let them hold you here.

Let the tendrils of darkness,

Hold you very near.



Let them breathe into you,

Without corrupting your light.

Show that you are a warrior,

That stands by her lover the night.
