You Will Need:


A Small Apple Twig

A Hair From Your Head

The Spell:

Wrap the hair around the twig while saying:


"Whoever it is that vexes me,

Could vex themselves by the power of three.

As I wish them no harm, I'll bind their power,

To the safety of a neutral tree"


Place the twig and hair in the branches of a nearby tree.

Casting a Circle


Cleanse your mind and picture the energy of the universe and nature mixed with your energy. Imagine yourself glowing purple or orange, whatever works for you. While facing North point your athame, wand, finger, or whatever you use towards the ground and see the energy flowing out. Begin to walk clockwise (right) around the circumference of the circle. Imagine a sphere forming with you inside it, half below the ground and half above.



Closing a Circle


Close the circle by picking up your athame, wand, finger, or whatever you used to cast it and walk to the corner at which you started. Point at the boundary of the circle and begin to walk counter-clockwise (left) until you complete the circle. While you're walking visualize the circle disappearing and the energy flowing back through the tool. When you are finished say "The circle is open, but unbroken."

When you hit a block, chant the following until you feel energy in your fingertips:
Goddess Bridgit, giver of the gift of words and creativity,
Bestow your gifts upon me now so that creativity may flow from me.

As the season begins to chill nearing Samhain, many authors use this indoor time to write, but the chill can also slow down our thinking and creativity! Light a yellow or orange candle sprinkled with rosemary, sage, peppermint or lobelia, and use an Eight of Swords, Wheel of Fortune, and Empress tarot images. Flip the Eight of Swords card over, thereby releasing the blockage, and place the Wheel of Fortune over it to represent time moving forward. Finally, focus on the natural creative ability of the Empress. Actually see these inspired ideas flowing into you as you easily allow your fingers to dance on your keyboard. Keep the Empress image near your work area and make some time every day to write. Know that your heart and your head are already clearing the writing path for you!
