The area had a blackout here for a few hours. Spent time taking a shower, playing with candles, finishing the dinner I had made beforehand. Heard lots of sirens, people screaming and a few gun shots. The gun shots surprised me, we aren't in such a bad area. I'm guessing the hoodlems from the area past us were being bad.



When I realized I hadn't eaten much, I went to wash something out and cook more. Then, bam! Power went back on.



Some people are calling the people here wimps or saying we should prepare better. Well guess what? Not all of us can. I'm worried for my friends who live closer to the sea. Most importantly, it's the end of the month, we couldn't stock up on food, we're dealing with what we got. Looking out for ourselves and staying in.



I find myself lucky, even if things aren't the best, because I know someone out there must not be having any fun at all. I wish everyone a safe week, happy Halloween and that the people who were hit hard can recover fast.



I've seen pictures of historic buildings that people have taken. Damaged, torn places. It's sad to see and deadly pretty all at the same time.

Saw a picture someone took of the storm over NYC. Christ, that's pretty looking and deadly. I bet some areas will catch flooding. Not sure of my area, we're 5 miles from the sea. The word 'Ocean' is part of the name of my street, hah. Some of Brooklyn is supposed to be swampland, believe it or not. It only doesn't look like it because of everything built up.

Okay, so I was staying up really late to ignore the outside. >.o Shit scares me. Grabbed the stuff off of my bed, blankets and my teddy and went to another bed to sleep on. My bed is close to the window, sister's bed isn't. I can hear really bad howling. Oooooooo, a ghostly sound. Windows don't seem safe to be near at all. ._.



They've already canceled schools for kids tomorrow, also. It's going to look like a mess outside.

Saw him today. He decided we should walk to Coney. Why not! Was our motto for the day. That's about 9 train stops. lmao We walked it back and I walked even more getting home. I'm not tired at all. Hip is a little iffy but there's a storm coming and I can rest then.



We split a fries. He was cute by putting two straws in a drink and force bending non-bendy straws. xD Told me my hands were cold and he spent time warming them up. Not a surprise, I'm a cold person. >.> Made me blush.



Fall and at the beach? What were we thinking? Weather wasn't sunny at all. Looked as if it would rain, but didn't.

We chilled by the pier and poked some crabs. Fun stuff. :3

Exhausted from yesterday. We saw her teachers. Her issues will stay with her. I'm not writing about them. It was fun to say hello to some. I was nervous when she had to see her art teacher. Who I assume has been new since I had left. So she doesn't know me.

As they were talking to her, I heard the devil passing by the room. Talking to a parent. I looked at her reflection across the night lit window. The head of their art dept didn't notice me and left. Good. -.o Bitch gives me nightmares.

It's typical here to get random entertainment. For a city that never sleeps, there's always something to do. People with BIG dreams, who do zany things. The feeling of dreaming can rub off on a person, but that doesn't mean I'm still not a bitch. >.>



A guy was playing his guitar. Small man who was old looking. He wanted to play and beg for money. I usually get tired of bad singers and boo them off. This time I said.. retarded, then cracked up into laughter. I was broken, couldn't stop laughing. Everyone could hear me and it was contagious. People started laughing because I was laughing. I was so loud you couldn't hear the poor man. lol He left at the next stop to harass some other people's ears. xD

Hah, now another friend asked me to go to the movies with him this November. Said he'd pay for me. I'm a bit confused. >.o I used to love him. It's just that he did something stupid by not telling me he wasn't going to show up last May to something and his phone is never working. Maybe he was shy? I don't know. He got the balls to ask now. He's always calling me "Rose, my love". I don't usually give second chances. I don't know if I will now, but it is nice to get out more.

Came back from The Metropolitan Museum of Art. The Andy Warhol exhibit is the best art exhibit I've ever went to. o_o

Right at the entry way, it says "No Pictures." Hah- knew it.

You see some of his work, then you get to this one room with a big pile of candy in the corner, where you can take one. FREE CANDY! :D One? Pffttt. :x The last room is a wall with painted on cow heads and HUGE balloons with music and a fan blowing them. People were hitting the balloons around.

There was a gift shop at the end, I picked out a Warhol post card to send to Katy. :P When I get the chance that is. xD





Picked out a few post cards for myself to add to my small collection. The Great Wave, various Warhol pictures and The Penitent Magdalen.

Another thing that happened, when the family and I were visiting the Egyptian part of the museum, I snuck into a part of Mastaba Tomb of Perneb, it was dark and I shouted "Boo!", scared my sister and the living shit out of a random lady, who later laughed when I told her I was sorry. XD Oppsie. lol Mom couldn't see inside that part so when we turned back I told sister we had to go find our mummy. LOL

I turned the computer on now because I'm about to make coffee, when I see a Steam Punk event happening in Manhattan over a book at the library. People are going to dress up and it's all free. Sounds cool, *except* it's on sister's birthday. xD Not going there. FUNNY story- :D She has parent teacher conferences that day. I'll LOL if she fails something. >.>

This Saturday I'm going to head back into Spanish Harlem like last week, then after I'm going to see if I can make it to the Met for the Andy Warhol exhibit. :3 That lasts from September 18 - December 31st. Anyone interested can click the link for more details.

There's nothing for me there. Turkey this, turkey that, blah. Then people pull out the sweet potatoes, which I hate. I don't even care if they're insulted. I plan to chill on here instead or something.



I remember so much stress of wanting it to be a perfect Thanksgiving, all the cooking I used to want to do or help out when I was invited there. Fuck it. I'm erasing this holiday from my mind. I'd laugh if they thought I was rude. Done enough for them in the past.

Funny thing happened on the way to the dentist- I was pushing my mom across the street. She was on her cell phone and a car was stopped at the light. In the mini van is a dude with sunglasses, bobbing his head to the music he has blasting. He shouts, "I wanna ride too!"

I finish crossing the street and hide somewhere in the middle of the block as he slowly rides down the block. LOL

Strangers in mini vans these days. :x



I have two cavities! :D Sister has the same, we'll be going back two times to get them filled.
