Here are some pics from the opening scene of my new short film. The lovely set of hands you see in the shots belong to VR's own MystressVampyra.









































I used a technique called 3 point lighting to get the shadows just right and also used makeshift gels to make everything appear red. This is a common thing in filmmaking but it was the first time I employed these techniques. I can see now why the process makes filming so much better.



Tomorrow we shoot all the remaining scenes and then it's off to editing land. When the film is done, I will be entering it into a couple of film festicals and may make the dvd available for free (postage will be paid by those wanting the dvd). I'm a mixture of nervousness and excitement, but that's always have I feel when I'm working with actors. I'm hoping the project runs smooth and without any hitches. Wish me luck.
