Once you fought for me,
attempted to drag me from the depths
out to see the brilliant light
to view the joys of the world above
and take away the strife of the dark.
Once I fought against you,
attempted to stay within my native cleft
to again see the magnificent night
to view the famliar horrors of the world below
and to keep and tame the pain of it.
For what you never understood, my dear,
not until it was far too late,
was that now pain is the only thing
I can feel.
