Crashing into love-5

For a moment, there was nothing but silence the air stilled and settled around them. Crystal and Evan stood with their eyes locked on each other, neither of them breathed. It seemed as if time had stopped completely, and all that was left was statues. The moment of calm right before the storm blazed in.

At first nothing happened, then Crytal's eyes went completely black with rage. Her skin drained of its color that she had obtained from feeding, her upper lip curled into distane as she hissed "You mean to kill us." She then took two quick strides grabbing Evan by the throat. "I give you the freedom to make a decision, and you spit in my face!"

Her fingers closed in around the windpipe squeezing out the very air from his lungs. Evan reached up quickly punching her in the stomach and pinning her to the ground. His eyes too turning into the same shad as Crystal. "I am to be King! I will make whatever decisions I choose! You don't rule her I do!"

Crystal kicked him swiftly in the ribs, then stood up. "No, my son you are not in the throne yet, and if you mean to choose a human or life then I will take it from you now!" She growled at him, ready to charge for the door. Crystal didn't want to kill her son, she loved him too dearly to do that. She meant to remove what was making her son act irrationally.

Evan quickly guarded the passage to which his mother was seeking. He knew that she wouldn't kill her only living child. She had watched too many of his siblings die before they reached the age were they could be sat on the throne. He had been her miracle, and she wouldn't part so easily with it.

Evan's only worry now was protecting Devine from his mother's rage. He knew that she would either take Devine away, or murder her before his eyes. What was strange to him, is as little about Devine he knew he wanted to give his life for her.

Crystal stared at him in surprise that he would know her plan, and protect the human from her. She felt bile raising in the back of her throat, and she couldn't stand losing her child. She stepped away from him; then allowed blood tears to flow from her face.

"You...why?...you condemn us all you foolish child." She managed through the tears she was crying, then she turned and ran from the scene. She couldn't bare to face him if it meant killing him.

He stood there for a moment, shocked that his mother was crying for him. That she would allow herself to show one ounce of weakness around him. He relaxed and meant to hug her, but she ran off before he could do anything. Guilt started to knaw on him and he knew that it would until he saw her again.

Evan leaned against the wall then slid down the wall closing his eyes, he knew that the clans were coming tonight. He could sense as they came closer and their anticipation as to whom he would choose as his bride. "I don't love any of them." he whispered to himself and couldn't bring himself to say anything.

Evan did not believe in love at first sight, he did not believe that humans could make vampires feel anything. He was a prince, not some cattle lover. Yet, here he was defending what he ate like some vegan in human society. 'you love her' his unbeating heart was saying to him, but he wouldn't listen.

Crystal stood on the balcony to the dining room and stared up at the moon as her tears continued to fall. "I miss you." She whispered to the night sky, meaning to tell her lover all of her sorrows. She was a queen, and was rarely permitted such luxuries as saying exactly how she felt.

She remembered all the times she wanted to express her love for him, and was told with a stare to never say it. She didn't even get to say how she felt before he died. Infact she wasn't allowed to mourn him afterwards. She wasn't allowed to say goodbye to her lost children, let alone show anything more than simple motherly love.

She was demanded that she be as strong as steel, and as cold as ice. She was never allowed to have any spice in her life, and she knew the same fate awaited the new queen. Her son wasn't allowed much more than happiness when he was younger, now he too would be banished to a life of emotionlessness.

Could Evan really give up all the power for a life that was much better spent here than anywere else. Could he let the clan fall to his uncles arrogant hands? Could Evan choose a human over his people if it meant that it would simply fall apart?

These were dangerous thoughts, and she wiped away her tears. She sighed allowing the wind to play with her stray hairs before she turned to walk back into the mansion.

"Crystal dear!" she looked across the room at the Dutchess Leanda, standing there rather amused by the whole scene that had just played before her. Crystal felt the last bit of warm blood in her, turn to ice.

Crashing into love-4

Dancing on clouds made of cotton candy it seemed there was nothing like feeling like this. Devine hadn't been this happy in a long time. The candy disppeared and she was sitting in her grandmother's sitting room.

Her hands were much smaller then, reaching forwards she moved some colorful blocks around. "De!" She looked up into a withered smiling face, but the eyes were a shining brown. Of course it was her grandmother, but this was a memory that she couldn't recall easily in any normal state.

Devine's grandmother reached over picking up one of the blocks and showing her how to stack them. She reached out to the block her grandmother had taken trying to take it back wanting to examine more than play with the block. The woman giggled at her and let her have the block back.

Just as she was about to go deeper into the memory, someone was calling her name "Devine..." it was a man's voice. She turned her head away from her grandmother, there Evan stood in the doorway. "Devine!" He seemd more urgent then before, as if he was upset about the scene playing before him.

She looked back up at her grandmother as she started to talk to her in a high pitched rather overdramatic voice. "You're such a good baby, Devine! Look at your tower!" She would point to something that she had obviously built for her.

"DEVINE!" a scream came from the doorway, the memory froze before her like she was staring at a movie that had messed up. Her grandmother's smile frozen in place, but her eyes seemed sad that she couldn't stay. Then as she reached for her grandmother, cracks enveloped around the scene, then it broke like glass falling apart.

She blinked and she felt like the happiness she felt was ebbing away, reality started to set in and she stared up at Evan. He looked worried, then when she came around he relaxed. "What?" her voice sounded hollow, empty rather then the way her grandmother had sounded...the way normal people sound.

She had no great happiness like her grandmother, her parents, all the people around her. Evan seemed startled that she seemed so empty, and his eyes sadden alittle that she had nothing like that to hold onto. "I was afraid that I had lost you...you were gone so long..." the fear in his voice really did show.

Evan had been waiting a couple of minutes in the bathroom for her to come around, when it seemed like it was going to last longer than expected. He had exited the bathroom carrying her back to the bed, where he had tucked her in trying to warm her fearing that she would go into shock.

Devine moved under the covers, and realized that she was very tired. She yawned softly "Sorry, but what would it matter? You don't know me." All the anguish had been drained from her when she had gone into the dream state from Evan's bite.

He was surprised that she was talking with him so openly now, instead of just trying to scream and run away. "Well, it does matter! I want you to stick around, after all I said I was going to keep you, and that means all of you not just physically." Evan knew that if he would of let her go any deeper in memories that were best forgotten after infancy she wouldn't of come back at all.

Devine laughed at him, but snuggled into the pillows as her eyes drooped from the lack of sleep. Evan rested in beside her, rather warm from feeding while she was still dreaming. "you've got to stay, I need you." it was almost too soft for Devine to hear as she slipped back into unconicousness.

Evan stared at her, making sure that she was really sleeping rather than reclaining into memories. He sighed knowing that he wouldn't get much out of her tonight. Yet, he watched her sleep intent on staying there until she awoke again.

Crystal paced her room, her power crackling about her like a net of sparks. She was so worried that Evan wouldn't heed her advice to take Devine away. She didn't want any of the other vampires thinking the prince was a mortal defender. They had enough of those in society, and it was a pain the neck to keep them from coming to the balls they held.

Crystal and Evan were in a clan that was not only dangerous to humans, but to other vampires. They focused on keeping up appearances rather than friendship, this was the circuit of elite vampires that didn't deny their inner animal.

They killed many people, and had no conious while doing so. Humans were the food supply not something to defend. I guess in this society the mortal defenders were the vegitarians that protested the killing of innocent cattle that happened to be human. So, what if some of them had been mortal once too, they weren't cattle anymore.

Crystal pushed the anger of having to deal with the weak parts of her society away from her mind. She wanted Evan to either change Devine by tomorrow or take her away, any of the vampires that came here would hear her heart beat no matter how far up in the house she was. They didn't keep mortal servants here, because it was extermely hard to hide their vampric nature. Then of course the endless array of dead bodies leaving the house would be hard to explain to any human logically.

The only mortal that ever came on the property and lived was the garderner. He of course would only stay a couple of hours, then was forced to leave when the sun was going down. They didn't have many lights in the garden, it made it easier for them to set out in the yard without being bothered by a flood of light.

Crystal was about to leave her room, when Evan walked in to bring his decision. "Mother..." He could sense her unease and tried to soothe her with a smile, but she didn't seem impressed at all. "I'm going to keep her."

Crashing into love-3

"Do you even know the consequences of your actions, Evan?" Crystal massaged her temples as if it would help the pain that was starting up like a storm. She couldn't believe that Evan would bring a human to this house, and of all the times of the year!

"I'm well aware of it." his voice was dark, yet calm about the whole situation. He did know that there was a meeting of the covens to happen later on this week. "I also know that you would force me to choose a bride before these festivties are over."

Crystal looked up at him, her hands dropping from her face. "My son, you are the prince of our dark kingdom. You can't expect me to let you go on without someone to secure a child for you." Evan turned away from her as if what she had said had stung.

Evan was about 500 years old, and he hadn't found anyone in all of that time that he could truly love like that. He had found many friends, but no one could make what he described love as to happen. He didn't want to choose a bride out of the clans women he had grown up around. Although all were very beautiful and had their charms, they lacked alot in emotion.

"Your father would of liked to of seen you married by now, and carrying a child in your arms." Crystal walked up to him and placed a hand on his right shoulder as if trying to comfort him from this decision. She would of given anything to shelter him from the ugly world as it was.

"My father would of liked to of seen alot of things, mother. But, he isn't here and my uncle made sure of it." Evan of course was referring to the betrayal that his own uncle had pulled. He had wanted to be king, or have a higher standing position. In that instance he had killed Evan's father when the boy was 15 years old in human years.

"You can't possibly mean to keep her, she would die in our world. Evan, you are signing her death sentence if you mean to love her, then let her go. Humans aren't animals that we can keep, they are just a food supply." Crystal walked away from her son, allowing him to make his choice. "She has awoken Evan, I susggest you make your choice before this night is over. We have our guests arriving tomorrow."

'I can't keep her?' his mind couldn't grasp the idea, he could keep anythign he liked. Atleast that is what he was told when he was younger. He was a prince of vampires, next in line to the crown. He wanted to keep Devine, because she shared something that no one else would share with him.

She was human, and it suprised him at how delicate she was, and it made him want to protect her because of it. 'I want to keep her.' he said to himself as if coming to his choice before he could weigh what exactly could happen to him, his mother, or Devine.

__________________________________________________________________

"Will you stop screaming!" he demanded as Devine tried to get a hold of herself. "It hurts my ears when you do that stuff." She gulped as she pushed her back against the glass. "Thank you." Evan huffed out, when Devine decided to take his advice.

"W-w-what do you want with me?" her voice shook just as her body timored uncontrolably. Her eyes checked around to see if there was anyway for her to get around him without getting herself hurt.

Evan stared at her for a moment, a smile coming across his face as he registered just how frightened she was. The predator part of him really loved to see human's this scared, but the less agressive part was sad that she couldn't trust him. Then again, could anyone trully trust a vampire?

"I'm going to keep you, that is what I want with you." Evan stepped closer, just as Devine jumped to her feet and ran away from him.

"You know it won't help you to run, all the doors are locked and I can run faster than you." Devine blinked at him, she didn't believe what she was hearing. Evan could tell by the look on her face, that it was irrational for him to get inside without unlocking the doors.

He moved without thought to her, wrapping his arms around her this time being infront. Devine struggled against him, "h-h-how?!" was all she could get out. "I'm a vampire, Devine."

The thought registered in her brain, and she started to fight harder than before. Evan was so hungry, and it was hard to keep his predatory instincts in check. "Devine, if you don't stop struggling...I'm going to bite you."

"Like hell you will!" She manged to kick him in the nuts. Evan growled and let go of her, as pain croased through his body. Devine ran across the room to the bathroom, throwing the door shut and locking it.

She sat in there crying, but before she could gather herself, arms where going around her. "I warned you!" Evan restrained her, finding the artery in her neck even with her crying and kicking about.

He bit into it, crimson traveling over his tongue and down his throat, like tomato soup. Devine felt a calm wash over her despite what he was doing to her. She calmed and a dreamy look appeared on her face, she felt like she was dancing in the clouds.

Even after he was finished, Devine continued to feel calm and like she was in the clouds. A smile was upon her face, and her eyes didn't register him at all.

Crashing into love-2

21:55 Apr 07 2007
Times Read: 612

It felt like a train had ran over her head, and forgot to kill her in the process when Devine was starting to come around. She was tucked under a rather fuffly comforter, that wasn't anything like the cotton/polyester blend she was used to.

She sat up slowly, and massaged her aching temples. The pain running from not only her head but shooting down to her toes, then back up. She didn't move for a long time, not registering the comforter or that there was anything new about her environment.

When her pain started to dull alittle and her vision cleared, she looked around the room she was in. This wasn't her appartment at all, the room was much larger that her entire living space. She was laying in a king sized bed, that engulfed her in it's blankets and pillows.

The pain was being replaced with not only astonishment, but fear of what exactly had happened to her.

She quickly got out of bed, realizing that her clothes had been changed into night clothes. She wouldn't of picked the silk nightie, but it definately felt nice against her skin...What kept running through her mind was...'Who changed my clothes?'

The thought dashed away as she moved across the room to a door that possibly led to the hall. Yet, when she opened it, there was just a bathroom. A large whirlpool tub sat infront of her, with a vanity that any vain woman would envy.

She quickly turned around as her blood was starting to run cold, she found another door to the adjacent wall, yet when she opened it. There was just a bunch of clothes setting in there nicely, what was strange is it was all women clothes...Did someone else live here; Besides the man that had possibly kidnapped her?

The last door was right by the bed that she had so eagerly jumped out of to investigate. She ran to the other side, as fear started to over take all reason that she had. Reaching the other side of the room, she pulled on the handle to let herself out; she found it locked! 'Shit!' she said almost out loud, checking the reflex to slam her fists up against the wood.

'God damn it!' she balled her fists, she wanted to break down the door, but alot of it was she was frightened of what would happen if that man suddenly appeared again.

Devine turned to look to the rather large window that was on the same side as the door to the closet. It nearly engulfed the whole wall, she approached it slowly. Realizing that there was no way for her to exscape.

She stared out over hills of houses that were too expensive for her. There was no one out at this time of day, it was just after lunch, and children (if there where any) would be arriving home in 1 hour.

Sadly, as Devine realized it, she was on a secluded hill side where no one could hear her cries for help. 'Why? Why did this had to happen to me?' she slid down to her knees pressing her face against the glass. 'I feel like I'm in one of those B-rated horror films.' all this passed through her mind, just as many images of what might happen later on.

Not only was she frightened of what would happen to her, she soon found that her thoughts weren't so private.

'Now, Now. I'd like to think that this could be one of those nice suspensiful horror films.' She turned looking to see if someone had said that. She found herself staring at the same guy that had choked her out the night before, and she began to scream.

Crashing into love

04:25 Apr 05 2007
Times Read: 616

She crouched in the chair with headphones pushed to head listening to music that she knew the beats to, but couldn't speak the language. Her back turned to the door, she had the music turned up high enough that anyone entering, she wouldn't notice until they were at her back. She moved her head to the side as a different song blasted through the headphones, and she smiled to herself as the love song unfolded.

She wished that she could have a song written about her, making someone feel exactly the way these men or women expressed themselves. She sighed softly, and dashed her hopes away; she was 22 years old and hadn't had a serious relationship in her life. Devine was alone, and even though she had friends, it just wasn't the same.

She reached over to pick up a picture that was infront of her, she stared at it for a moment. It showed a happy little girl with her two parents, and she wondered if she could have the love her parents had for one another. They had been together for almost 35 years, and even though they had their bouts they were still very much in love.

She sat it down, and sighed to herself; 'What did love matter if you can't be successful?' She thought to herself just as a tear started to streak down her cheek. She wiped away the tear with bitterness starting to cloud her very vision, she had to turn off the music. She was so lonely, in her appartment that she had purchased only a year ago.

Just as she turned off the music, she heard something moving outside her door. She turned to see a man standing in her door way, a scream emitted from her mouth; so horrorified that she hadn't noticed before. He didn't move or she thought, but before she knew it he was behind her, choking the air out of her.

She struggled trying to push his hands away at first, then trying to kick him off of her, she raised to her full height and attempted to use momentum to throw him away. His grip tigthened to the point she thought that her wind pipe was broken, she could see black spots start to form infront of her vision.

He bent down her ear, "Stop struggling!" he hissed angryily. He hated when women did this, especially human women...it made it harder to explain what was going on.

'NO!' her mind screamed and she started to go for his face to inflict some sort of pain, but he just squeezed the last bit of pressure. Her vision clouded completely and she found her conious waning away, until it went black. Her body leaned completely onto his hands, and she would of hit the floor if he hadn't of put his arms around her.

He huffed, and picked her up sitting her down on the couch just outside the computer room she had been in. "Why do you never listen?" He said frustrated with her, but it was more like he was saying to to himself. He reached over smoothing down the golden locks that Devine had.

Evan was hungry, and had meant only to stop by this appartment complex for a quick meal outside when he'd heard her soul softly crying. The loneliness that he felt from the very soul that he'd felt it within his very own, and it hurt to feel anothers pain. Evan didn't go looking for companionship everywhere, so this wasn't something he was used to.

He sat there next to Devine and wondered why exactly he had come here, when he had a perfectly good meal outside. 'What am I doing this for?' He shook his head, maybe it was a mistake but he didn't want to admit that to himself. 'Maybe I should go, and make her think it was a dream.' he nodded to himself and stared at her, 'What am I going to do?'
