When I woke up Alexander wasn't next me. I turned off the alarm clock and headed down to the next floor to wake up Nowel. I didn't realize it but either I put my night clothes on or Alexander and/or Nowel put them on. Which I'm hoping I did. Oh well. Nowel wasn't in her room so she must already be awake. So I headed down to the dining room and found Niles sitting a plate of breakfast food in my seat and then set a plate down in front of Nowel.

"How are you feeling?"

"My head hurts but I'm okay. You?"

"I'm better now. Niles said that it would be okay but you know Alexander better. But do you think he'll let me move in for a while?"

"He shouldn't have a problem. He'd love the company. I mean he enjoys me here. Which I have to go home after school today to get more clothes."

"Well that's you. But okay. I'll make sure to ask him later on. But I'm going to go get dressed. I'll meet you down in the car in about 20 minutes?"

"Yeah okay. Thank you Niles for the breakfast."

"You're welcome Miss Selene. How are you feeling?"

"I'm feeling okay. Hey if I'm not here by the time Alexander gets up tell him I had to grab more things from my house. Just to call my cell."

"Certainly. Have fun at school Miss Selene. Be Safe."

"I will try."

I finished my breakfast and walked back up the hundred steps to Alexander's room. I turned on the light and walked over to his and mine's dresser. I'm sure he wouldn't mind me borrowing one of his shirts. Since Niles still needs to wash my already worn shirts. I opened his drawer and pulled out one of his black HIM shirts and slid it on. I went over to the bed and grabbed my pants and put them on and put on my boots. I looked at the clock and it read 6:40. I still had 10 minutes to get downstairs to leave. So I locked the bedroom door and went to the attic door and opened it slowly. I saw the lit candle on the stand next to Alexander's clock that was standing next to his coffin. He did want me to wake him up to tell him goodbye, so. I slowly opened the coffin lid and saw Alexander's sleeping face. He looked so happy and peaceful.

"Alexander...Alexander...Sweetie I'm leaving."

Alexander yawned and opened his eyes. "Okay. I'll see you tonight. I love you." He leaned up and kissed my lips.

"I love you too. Sleep well." I then shut his coffin lid and walked out to the main bedroom. By the time I would reach the downstairs it would be time to leave. So I grabbed my purse and book bag and continued down stairs. Nowel was already in her truck that Niles and Alexander went and picked up sometime last night. I yelled to Niles goodbye and closed the main doors behind me.

"Morning sunshine."

"Yeah let's just hope today that Jake and his soccer snobs don't tick me off. Life will be better off that way."

Nowel started the truck up and pulled out of the long driveway. "But you look forward to being mean to Jake. It puts you in a good mood."

"Yeah. Making him mad does but something about today doesn't seem right. I'm just not in the mood for him to get on me. Alexander isn't a freak."

"Well I know that. Since when did you get that shirt?"

"Since I looked through Alexander's clothes this morning and took it for the day."

"You suck."

"At least I don't swallow."

"That's morbid."

"I know." I grinned at her and we rode the rest of the way to school in silence.

We pulled into the school parking lot and of course Jake and his soccer snobs were standing around in a circle around Jake's car, pointing at Nowel's truck.

"They just don't know what a good truck is till they have one of their own."

"Haha. Don't worry I'll deal with his sorry butt later on today in Math."

"You go girl. You are starting to act more like me every day."

"Yeah, yeah."

Nowel parked the car. We walked into the school and right behind us was the "pain in the butt" squad. They followed us to our lockers and as I opened my locker, Jake came over and shut both of our lockers.

"Hey Jerk! What in the world do you think you're doing? How come the only person in your squad that is actually nice and somebody that I don't have to worry about fighting with is Taylor? Why can’t you and everybody else be like him?" I yelled at Jake and as I mentioned Taylor's name he grinned and scooted next to Nowel. I knew that Taylor had feelings for Nowel and I knew that Nowel felt the same way for Taylor.

"Really? Taylor nice? If that was true then he wouldn't be on the team. Because I'm the team captain and I can do what I want."

"Jake it is true. I talked to coach and I'm quitting the team. For more than one reason. You are too mean to people and you are a back stabber. So grow up and leave these girls alone."

"Whatever Taylor. Protect vampire girl. I wasn't attacking Nowel. She's too nice."

"Oh you weren't attacking me? Selene is my daughter. You better watch yourself."

"Come on guys." Jake and the rest of his gang left us alone and Taylor helped Nowel with her books.

Nobody said anything about Taylor helping Nowel and we walked to first period in silence. You may be confused about Nowel being my mother. Well, in ninth my ex told us that we were like mother and daughter. And we followed that ever since. And everybody knows about that. And so Nowel adopted me as her daughter pretty much. Finally we reached first period and we took our seats before the bell rung. English sucks. Nobody pays attention and today we are watching Romeo and Juliet. How fun? Oh well. Taylor sat in the front seat, me in the next, and Nowel in the third. Nowel passed me a note.

I can't believe he stood up to his best friend Jake since the 2nd grade!

I stopped writing to Nowel and decided to write notes to Taylor. Sooner is always better than later.



Sooo, Taylor do you like Nowel? Be honest. I can tell when a person is lying.

Yeah, but I don't know how to ask her out. Can you help me?

Sure! Alexander and I can create a romantic dinner in his backyard. It's free and she'll love it. Buy her roses. She loves them. Ask her if she wants to hang out either now in a note or after school in the parking lot at her truck. And before you come to dinner take her to a movie. When do you want to do all of this? Do you like the idea?

How about tonight? Does she have any plans?

Tonight is great. She has to take me to my house but after that she'll be free. You can pick her up at Alexander's at 8.

I knew I couldn't tell Nowel yet about what was going to happen after school or now. Even as much as she wanted me to. I just had to play along. She kept writing notes to me during English class and asking me what was going on but I had to keep telling her "I can't tell you. It's a surprise." But finally English was over and luckily we didn't have any more classes together. But now it was my turn to torture Jake in Math. My day will be better knowing I can mess with Jake in the rest of my classes. I sat in my seat behind Jake's waiting for him to come in. But while waiting I opened my red nail polish and poured some onto his seat. He never pays attention to what he sits on, so. I hurried up and screwed the lid back on when I saw him and his buddies walk through the door.

"Hey guys I just realized that vamp girl is in our math class. You might want to cover up your necks."

"Oh hey it's Mr. I have secret periods like a girl."

"Men can't have periods." He sat down has his buddies gave him a high five.

"We'll see about that when it's your time of month. Shouldn't it be soon?"

"You wish I did have periods. Now be quiet so I can learn."

"Heh okay."

Mr. Ebeling started going over the homework from last night and picked Jake to work out the problem on the board.

"Hey Jake looks like Selene was right. What? She stressed you out so bad you started?"

"What the heck are you guys talking about??" Jake turned his head around and looked at his butt. "Selene what did you do to my pants? These are expensive jeans. You'll pay for this."

"I told you that it was getting close to your time to start. Do you need some extra pads?"

"You're a freak."

"So that's what I've been told. How about you tell me something I don't know?"

"Screw you!"

"Mr. Farmer do you need to go to the nurse’s office to take care of your problem?"

"Yes." he growled and glared at me.

Jake left and Mr. Ebeling continued on with his lessons and Jake never returned. He'd be in the lunch or 3rd period. But Taylor is planning on sitting with Nowel and me at lunch. So. I still had 20 minutes left of 2nd period math, so I started doodling Alexander's name onto my notebook. I wished that Alexander was here. He could write me notes during and between classes. I can see what Alexander meant. He wished he was here. But once I'm turned he won't have to worry about that. He won't have to worry about me being alone and unprotected during the daylight hours. Him and I can sleep side by side in our coffin and we won't have to worry about being apart again.

Ding dong. Ding Dong.

Finally the bell rung to go to lunch. I knew Jake would be there and I had to tell Nowel about what I did. I know her and Taylor would want to know. So I met Nowel at our lockers and we walked to the lunch room. We got our lunches and looked for Taylor. He was sitting outside on the lunch room's patio. Nobody else was sitting outside so it was peaceful for once.

"Hey you two. How is the day so far?"

"Oh wonderful. Jake started his monthly."

"Oh Selene what did you do?" Nowel asked.

"Oh a little bit of this and a little bit of that."

"I saw him at the nurse's. What did you do?"

"Before he went into math I pulled my red nail polish out of my purse and poured some onto his seat. And before he sat down I was making comments about it was almost his time to start. Then he sat in the puddle of red polish and thankfully Mr. Ebeling called him up to work out a problem and everybody saw the red mark on his pants. And Mr. Ebeling excused him from class."

"You did that to Jake. Selene you're a genius."

"Isn't she?"

"I'm waiting for Jake to come out here to start stuff. I know he didn't go home. I can't wait to fight with him. It makes my day so much better."

"Well you better prepare for that fight. Jake is coming our way."

"Taylor you have my back?"

"Yes ma'am."

I turned around and there Jake was standing right inside of the door. He walked out with his soccer snobs and started his ranting.

"What were you thinking pulling a stunt like that? You won't get away with this. I'll make sure you get suspended."

"What stunt? I thought I was being nice and warning you that your time of month was coming. Looks like it came right on time this month."

"Hey vamp girl you're going to want to watch your back. Your mother won't be able to watch and protect you all the time."

"I can protect myself from scum like you. Plus if I do need to be protected I have Alexander."

"Vamp boy? I'm surprised he hasn't ate you yet."

"Jeeze is somebody jealous?"

"Why would I be jealous?"

"Cause you keep messing with me."

"You wish. Just watch your back." Jake walked away at that point and went back into the lunch room. I looked at Taylor and Nowel and decided I was going to leave school early today.

"Hey I'm leaving early today. I'll call Niles to come pick me up. You two love birds have fun."

"Why are you leaving? Are you okay?"

"Yeah I'm fine. I just want to go see Alexander. Have fun tonight."

"How did you know he asked me? You were fighting with Jake."

"It's called he warned me ahead of time. Talk to you all later."

"See you. Be careful at your house."

"I will. Bye Taylor."

"Bye."

I walked back into the lunch room and then walked down to the hallway to the office and made some lie up about how I needed to go home because I was puking. And they believed it. So I called Alexander's house phone knowing Niles would answer and asked him to come pick me up. He agreed. So I waited in the office for Niles to come pick me up.

After waiting a half hour Niles finally walked through the office doors and signed me out. Once in the car I told Niles the truth and he just nodded. And I knew that I had to go get more clothes.

"Niles, it'll only take me maybe 10 minutes. Do you think we could stop by my parent’s house to grab the rest of my clothes? Nobody is home. It won't take long I promise."

"Sure Miss Selene.”

"Thank you."

He pulled into my house and I ran into the house and up the stairs to my room. I grabbed two of my book bags and opened my dresser and grabbed handfuls of clothes. I grabbed another pair of my boots and decided that was enough and I was going to go downstairs to grab some snacks from the kitchen but I didn't. I took off down the stairs and back into the car and Niles pulled out of the drive.

"Did you get everything you need?"

"Yeah for now."

"When I need more I'll have Alexander or Nowel take me back there."

That's all that was said between him and I. I did tell him about the dinner tonight and he agreed to cook as long as Alexander and I would do the decorating. Which is good. I ended up falling asleep in the car and woke up when we reached the mansion. Niles helped me with my things into the house.

"Niles when Nowel comes in tell her I'm in the shower."

"Yes Miss Selene."

I took my things and headed upstairs and sat my things in Alexander's room. I was thinking about just sleeping on the main bed in the bedroom and watch TV. But I wanted to lay next to Alexander. So I locked the bedroom door and opened the attic door. The candle was still lit from this morning and his coffin was still shut. I slid off my boots and moved closer to the coffin and opened it slowly. It's only noon and I didn't want to wake him up too early like I had yesterday. I slid into the coffin easily and got comfortable without waking him up and slowly closed the lid. I layed my head on his chest and wrapped my arms around him, and took his left arm and put it around me. I felt Alexander move and I stiffened. He put his right arm around me along with his left. Maybe he thought he was dreaming that I was there or maybe he felt me in his sleep get into the coffin and pretend to be asleep if so, I'll have to hurt him.

"Love?"

"Yes?"

"Mm what are you doing home already?"

"I'll tell you when you wake up."

"Okay. Night."

"Night."

He fell back asleep and I watched him sleep for awhile, then I eventually fell asleep.



"Selene. Selene love wake up."

"Alexander just let her sleep. She had a rough day."

"It's 6 p.m. in the afternoon. She needs to get up. Wait, what do you mean she had a rough day?"

"Jake gave her problems and she said she wasn't feeling good. Something about today not being a good day to mess with him."

"I hate being out of school. I need to be with her to protect her. I want to meet this Jake kid. He's always giving her problems. I'll let her rest."

"She does her own protecting. Taylor backed her up today but she normally does something to get back at Jake.

"You know I can hear you two talking."

"Sorry Love. You can go back to sleep."

I sat up and looked at him. I knew the speech about him not being with me in the daylight hours is a problem.

"No, I have to help Nowel get ready for her date with Taylor tonight. I'll be fine."

"Yeah speaking of which I'm going to get in the shower," Nowel said as she walked out the door.

I hoped that Niles told Alexander about the romantic dinner arrangements tonight that we have to set up.

"I need to be at school with you."

"You can't. I can handle myself. But we have to pull out your candles and decorations."

Alexander sighed. "You help Nowel and I'll do the decorating. And you can go out back to the garden and pick some of your roses for the table setting."

"Okay. I need to get ready."

"You look fine like that. Which you and I need to talk about you borrowing my clothes and about your school life. Deal?"

"Deal."

I pulled myself out of Alexander's bed and headed down to Nowel's room. I looked through her make-up and pulled out an outfit that would be special for tonight. Something that was fancy and nice looking but not too fancy. So I pulled out a nice red and black dress that would be knee length on her. I grabbed a pair of her black heals and layed them next to the dress on the bed. I heard the water shut off in the bathroom and figured Nowel was on her way back to her room. So I hurried up and turned on her curling iron and dug through her make-up one last time finding what I needed this time around. I pulled out her black eyeliner, red and gray eye shadow, and pulled out some natural blending blush. I sat in the chair sitting in her room and waited for her to walk in.

Nowel opened the door. "You already picked out the stuff?"

"Yeah."

"Okay. How are you feeling?"

I'm fine." I gave her a look that we needed to hurry.

"We've got some time. You do the hair and I'll do the makeup. But seriously Raven how are you feeling?"

"I think my period is coming. I'll be fine."

"You sure. I can always get your Uncil to come over and talk to you if Alexander doesn't mind?"

"I'll be fine. If I need Uncil Tentsa, I'll get him myself. You worry about doing your make up."

"Okay okay."

Nowel turned on her computer and opened her media player. HIM's "Scared to Death" came on and the both of us sang along. I brushed the knots out of her hair and dried it. I then plugged in the straitner and turned it on. Nowel put on her eyeliner and eye shadow that I picked out for her to wear and then continued to put on her blush. Nowel wanted her hair in a way that it was up and down. So I took a hair tie and took her hair and put it in half up and half down. And I took the straitner to her hair first and made it flat. Then I grabbed the already warmed up curling iron and the hair that was in the hair tie I curled it and put hairspray and a little bit of other hair products.

"Jeeze Love her hair is going to be flammable."

"No it won't. She did a wonderful job."

"Yeah you're just jealous that I can do hair better than you can." I ran over to Alexander and rubbed my hands through his hair.

"Are you two almost done. We have a special guest here early. Says it there is nothing opened after 8."

"Oh he can have her now. I'm finished."

Nowel got up and spun around in front of the mirror. "I'll be home by midnight. Don't stay up."

"Oh we are." I grinned and pushed her out the door and made her hurry down the steps.

Taylor was waiting at the bottom of the steps for Nowel. He was dressed in jeans and a nice shirt and he had his hair combed back, and trimmed. As Nowel walked down the steps, Taylor lifted his hand to grab hers and pulled a bouquet of roses out from behind his back and handed them to Nowel. Nowel was in shock and she was happy. I've never seen her this happy since her ex. I hope Taylor isn't a back stabber. He promised me and was telling the truth. I just hope he wasn't lying to me.

"Thank you Selene for helping. Nowel, you look absolutely amazing." Taylor took Nowel's hand and walked out the door.

"You're welcome." I shut the door and walked back into Alexander's arms.

"Now do you mind telling me why you came home early from school today? What happened?"

"Well I don’t have to go to the garden now. I'll just use her roses when she gets back. But you can follow me out into the garden while Niles is busy. I want privacy."

"Okay." Alexander grabbed my hand and we walked through the dining room and then through the kitchen. As we walked through the kitchen Alexander told Niles that we were going to the garden and that we'll be back in, in a few minutes. We walked out the door hand in hand and in to the garden. I let go of Alexander's hand and continued to the center of the garden and sat on the Gazebo steps. Alexander took my hands again and sat down beside me.

"Now love what is wrong?"

"I woke up feeling weird this morning. Not myself. I had a dream that someone was trying to hurt me. Then Jake pushed me over the edge today when he was messing with Nowel and me. And I called Niles up saying I was sick and had him bring me home."

"Do you want to stay home tomorrow?"

"No I can't. Nowel will have my butt and then she'll tell Tentsa."

"But we can talk about it. I can home-school you or something till you feel better. I don't like you not feeling well and this Jake kid messing with you. I can't protect all the time and I feel safer at least knowing that you are here in my arms where I can watch you."

"I don't know. I think I should talk to Tentsa. Things seem better that way."

"If that will help. I will give Tentsa a call for you. You go rest up some and I'll wake you when Nowel and Taylor come back from their movie."

"I love you." I leaned over and kissed Alexander on the lips and grabbed his hand, and pulled him up with me and back into the house.

Once inside the house I proceeded upstairs while Alexander stayed in the kitchen to help Niles. I knew Tentsa would agree to come. If it dealt with me or Nowel he would come. I can trust Alexander to call him and not give a crap if he came over. Though Alexander and Tentsa never officially met I was afraid for when they did. Alexander has only talked to Tentsa over the phone, And so far they have been getting along. I haven't talked to Tentsa in awhile though. Tentsa is my uncle or uncil. Him and Nowel are the sources to the Hermanian world which I'm the princess to. We have our language which is similar to the American/English language. But Tentsa is and has always been protective. It's that loveable side of him. He wanted and wants me to live my life normally but I have Alexander which means nothing is normal. But Tentsa doesn't know about Alexander being a vampire and me wanting to be one. Nowel doesn't even know yet. I hope that's going to change soon.

I finished climbing the stairs to mine and Alexander's room and crawled into the bed and closed my eyes.

"Alexander wake up." I whispered.

My handsome, god-like, perfect boyfriend was laying next to me. Alexander was the perfect boyfriend for me. But I'm only a mortal. But still as I layed here next to him in his arms, watching him sleep, I realized that I wanted to be in his world. "Alexander wake up." Still nothing. I really did not want to wait till he had to get up. I wanted to tell him this so bad.

"Alexanderrrrr." Finally I heard him start to wake.

"Love?" he yawned.

"Alexander I need to tell you something. I couldn't wait any longer."

"It's 2 o'clock in the daylight."

"I know, I know. But just let me tell you this one thing. Then you can go back to sleep."

"Okay, I'm listening."

"Well, I woke up and was thinking. Now you know how much I love you. But I think it's time you know that I want to be in your world."

"Love, you don't want to be this. I'm a monster. I won't take away your soul."

"But I want to be with you. With me being mortal, I'll get older. My looks will change. I want..No need to be with you for all of eternity."

"Love, let's talk about this when we get more sleep."

"Yeah. Okay." I sighed.

"I do love you. Always and forever," Alexander kissed my forehead and went back to sleep. Me on the other hand stayed up longer.

Maybe I should've waited till he got up. But I just don't get it. A year ago when him and I first met, he knew that I loved vampires and wanted to be part of the immortal world. And now is the time he wants to tell me he doesn't want to turn me? I turned my back against him but still in hes arms and tried to sleep again.

When I awoke Alexander wasn't next to me. So it had to be sunset. I pushed up on the coffin lid and looked up at the clock which read 8 p.m. So I crawled out of the coffin and walked out into Alexander's "propped" bedroom. That's where I found Alexander sitting on the bed, shirtless putting on his boots. Alexander heard me shut the attic door. He walked over to me and wrapped me up into a hug and kiss that made my legs tremble, and my heart to beat wildly.

"Mmm. Morning Love." He said in his soft Romanian accent.

"Morning. I can certainly get use to waking up like this forever."

"Well, it's morning for us. Haha."

"I know. So can we head down stairs now? I'm starving." I tried to pull him out the door.

"Let me get a shirt on."

"No, I want to eat in your arms with you like this."

"I'm not sure how Niles will like it."

"he can deal with it. Now lets eat." Finally he agrees and let me pull him out of the room. Vampires are way stronger than humans. Thats why I was so happy he let me win.

"Morning Alexander and Miss Selene."

"Good evening. Haha." I grinned and laughed.

"Of course Miss Selene. Hungry?"

I shook my head yes. Alexander took my hand as Niles left the dining room, and lead me to the head of the dining table. Alexander sat down and pulled me down onto his lap. I wrapped my arms around his neck and layed my head on his shoulders. I could feel his abs against my side. He kissed the top of my head and gave me a tight hug again.

"You should be careful about what you do."

"Why is that?"

"Because you are mortal. And you keep turning me on with the way you react to everything I do to you."

"I don't care"

"Speaking of which we need to talk."

"Yes we do."

"Now Love, you know I love you but trust..."

"Here you two are." Niles came in with our food but I really wished he would've waited.

"Thanks Niles." Alexander answered.

Niles had mixed Alexander a Romanian "drink" and made me a plate of eggs, two slices of toast and bacon. Then Niles went back into the kitchen.

"Now back to what I was saying. I love you and want to spend forever with you. But trust me you don't want this sort of life. I'm a monster and live in the night. You don't know how bad I wish I could go to school with you and show you off." If he could, it sounded as if he would cry.

"I took a few bites from my plate and looked at Alexander.”I know you love me and I love you. But we can spend forever holding hands. And you are not a monster. I don't care about my soul. You can have it. I want you to have all of me."

The kitchen door creaked open a little but Niles didn't come through. Alexander waited for Niles to come through before he responded. Both Alexander and I knew he was listening in but finally after a few minutes of no Niles coming through the door, Alexander replied.

"Love, I know all of this but I feel as if I'll be committing a crime."

"You wouldn't be. It's not a crime if I act dead."

The kitchen door slammed open. And Niles came through.

"Now Miss Selene, you can't do that to your parents."

"Now Niles you and I have talked about this. And now I tell Alexander and you have a problem?"

"Well yeah, because you didn't tell me about how you were going to lead your parents on."

Now I was getting upset. My parents always told me to be what I wanted to be. And I plan to follow that. Plus I'm the outsider of the family. Not like they're going to care any ways if I'm gone.

"Love?" I heard Alexander's voice but I was lost in my own frustration

Alexander knows my family doesn't care for me. So why does he act like this? Doesn't he want me? Or is he just doing this knowing that Niles was ease dropping?

"Love? Loove?" Alexander then shook me.

"What?" I gasped.

"Calm down. You're going to have a panic attack."

"No...I'm...Not." My anger was getting the best of me. My head started to pound and my breaths were coming short.

I got off of Alexander's lap and took off towards Alexander's room crying. There are four floors in this mansion. Alexander's room had to be the one at the very top. As I started climbing the stairs I heard Alexander tell Niles to leave me be.

When I finally reached Alexander's room, I became dizzy, couldn't breathe, and my headache was getting worse. I collapsed on Alexander's bed and cried. I know Alexander would be up here in a few minutes and that made me cry more. I still can't breathe and the headache hasn't left. I almost ended up crying myself to sleep again but I heard Alexander's footsteps creaking in the hallway. After a few knocks on the door Alexander walked in.

"Love?"

"Yeah?" I sniffled.

"Please tell me you're not crying?" He came over and sat on the bed.

"I wish I could," I sat up and looked at him in the eyes.

"Oh Love, please don't cry." He scooted closer to me and wrapped me in his arms attempting to calm me down. I felt his abs against my face and his muscular arms stretch around me. "Calm down love. Everything will be okay."

"How can you be so sure? You don't want to turn me. It's worrying me. And then what just happened down stairs? You know how my parents treat me. And you're worried if they'll miss me? You know they won't."

"Selene, trust me I want to turn you. But I had to put on a show for Niles. Certain things have to happen before I turn you. That's the way him and my other family believes. But trust me I want to."

"Well? What needs to happen first?"

"I can't tell you." He grinned. "Give it time."

"How much?"

"Soon."

"How soon?"

"Within a month."

"I looked up into his eyes and took in how gorgeous his dark blue eyes are, and the smell of his skin that drives me crazy.

Alexander grinned and leaned his head down and kissed me. This kiss was different from our other kisses. This one was more passionate, more desire flowed through this one, and this one, Alexander's hands were roaming more than they usually do. Alexander's hands went from my back to being tangled in my hair, and then his hands traveled a little further south sliding into my back pockets. In the back of my mind I knew I should stop now before I got too far. But I kept letting Alexander please me. Alexander then pulled one hand out of my pocket and started to tug on my shirt. Then pushed me back onto the bed making me lay down.

Knock. Knock.

I hurried and pushed Alexander off of me knowing Niles was knocking.

"Come in." My voice cracked.

"Miss Selene, Miss Nowel called. She said she might not be at school tomorrow. Sounded like she was crying."

"Oh no! I swear her foster parents are going to get it now. Her and her parents are probably fighting. I have to go get her. Alexander can you take me?"

"Yes."

I started to grab my things but Alexander grabbed my hand and threw my things back onto his bed. And then he pulled me down the stairs to the car.

Nowel has been my best friend since the ninth grade, two years ago. She's the popular one but she does have her moments and I am lucky she even wanted she even wanted to be friends. But she's always there for me so; I'm there for her when she needs me. And now with us both juniors we need each other the most.

Alexander drove a little faster sensing my nerves fill with worry.

"Why wouldn't you let me bring my stuff?"

"Because I'm worried about you. So you and Nowel are going to be spending the night at my place."

"Nowel doesn't know about..."

"Don't worry. Niles is covering the house and I'll pretend to sleep when she goes to bed. And I'll already be sleeping when you both leave for school. Just promise me when you leave you'll come in and tell me that you’re awake and okay?"

"Okay. Promise."

We then pulled into Nowel's driveway, and as I stepped out of his mustang, I could hear loud voices coming from inside the house. I ran to the door and knocked loudly. Nowel answered the door and she had been crying. And as I looked around her house I saw her bags on the steps.

"Come on. You go to the car and I'll get your bags. Alexander's at the car."

"Okay," she whimpered.

Her parents were fighting with each other and still yelling at Nowel. So I snuck in and bent down and grabbed her things. As I started out the door, the yelling stopped. I then felt a strong hand on my shoulder that yanked me around.

"Get your hand off of me!" I yelled at Nowel's foster father.

He kept both of his hands on my shoulders. I could feel panic attack coming.

"What the hell do you think you're doing?!"

"Saving my friend."

"You little bitch. You're the reason she's been acting up. If you think you are getting away with this, you're not."

I looked outside through the corner of my eye and saw Alexander tense up. He could sense me having trouble breathing. I knew he could. I saw Alexander start walking towards me and I wasn't sure why. So I looked back at Mr. Hayz and felt a hard fist hit the side of my head, knocking me out of the doorway and onto the ground. Last thing I saw was Alexander run towards me then the blackness took over.

When I woke, Alexander's arms were around me and my head was on his lap. Nowel just put a bag of ice on my head.

"What happened?"

"Shh. You were going into a panic attack and Mr. Hayz punched you in the head then you passed out." Alexander told me.

Nowel seemed calmed down compared to earlier.

"I want to go lay down." I started to get up but I fell back down and Alexander caught me.

"Oh no you don't. I'll carry you up. Nowel, it's late. May be you should lay down too."

"Okay. See you in the morning Selene."

"Mmhmm."

Alexander put his arms around me and stood up. I wrapped my arms around his neck and rested my head on his shoulder. The coldness of Alexander's skin helped my head. As I opened my eyes to look at Alexander, I saw something red slide down his face.

"How are you bleeding?"

"Oh shoot! I thought you fell asleep. I'm not hurt. I'm crying."

"Two things. One: Why are you crying? Two: I thought you couldn't cry?"

"I can. But it's not like yours. I don't let you or anyone else see me cry. Tats why you think that."

"Okay. So why are you crying?"

Alexander took the last few steps left and walked into his room. He shut and locked his door then tucked me into his bed. Alexander climbed into the other side and cuddled with me. I layed my head against his cool body.

"You want to know why I was crying?"

"Yes."

"Because I let you get hurt. I promised you a year ago that I wasn't going to let anything hurt you. And you are so fragile like this. I hate to see you in pain."

"Oh Alexander it's all part of being a human. Once I'm in your world you won't have to worry about me getting hurt. You'll be there to protect me easier and I won't be so fragile. I'll be bullet proof like you!" I grinned at him and kissed his shirtless chest.

Alexander held me in his arms till I fell asleep or at least till I drifted off to dreamland or what was supposed to be dreamland. But I couldn't remember anything.

Okay. So today I'm going to start adding the chapters to my story that I've told you guys about. I'll admit I don't think I'm that good of a writer. But I'm going to share with you guys anyways. :) And I get my inspiration from the books I read. But I hope you all enjoy it.
