Returning to Santa Cruz for yet another night of musical terror comes
the Cult of Defiance on Friday, November 18th, in an unholy assault
on both Thanksgiving and the very essence of darkwave music. Be
prepared for the return of our three-DJ setup and a completely
different feel in each room throughout the club, as well as other
surprises this month.
In the Black Cat Lounge, we will have the hippest man west of the
Mississippi, Señor Meester, backed-up by his possee of the undead SF
terror, RickA.Mortis, and the most nefarious and eclectic character
from San Jose, Neshamah, launching their usual brand of post-punk,
deathrock, psychobilly, and lots of cult classics to keep your bones
moving to the beat.
In the back room, this month we will have the man who's name
strikes fear into the hearts of all mortals, the GothFather himself,
Narce, the German assassin of gothic'industrial, Tristan von
Wasserspeier, the EBM and noise Archbishop of Malta, Ðante, the man
with two titles at Defiance who hails from the city that gives our
governor a hard time at the voting booth, RickA.Mortis, plus one
special guest. We'll be spinning everything from the latest noise in
the early evening, to those long-lost gothic'industrial anthem your
mother played by your cradle, to some gothic rock and EBM that will
have you spinning and stomping into the early hours.
In the bar area, we will have a rotation of DJs spinning the
lighter side of electronic, with some newwave, 80s classics, and
other genres for your drinking amusement.
As per usual, if you want to submit a DJ or band demo, contact
"staff" at ClubDefiance.com. Open DJ tryouts are by appointment
through that same contact and start at 8:00pm.
We continously take requests throughout the month for the event,
so, as usual, shoot that email over to "staff" at ClubDefiance.com
