Monday was my uncle's funeral. I have to say it was one of the best send offs I have seen at a funeral. It was better than a military funeral. Not that funerals are all that great.
He was the chief of the Windsor Fire dept. for several years. Windsor was a small community of a bout 1200 people. He was always one to help out any one in town that needed it. Be a yard mowed, a ride to the doctor's office or whatever, he was there for everyone.
During the funeral, they gave him the Fireman's three bell salute. They even did a fire call, calling for Chief Morrison to respond. After the third call, it said, no response from Chief Morrison, his badge will now be retired. There were over 20 fireman from the surrounding communities there to pay their respects to the fallen firefighter, even though he did not die in a fire.
Leading the funeral procession were 15 fire trucks from surrounding communities. Hanging over Main Street was a giant American flag, held by two ladder trucks from other communities. The fire trucks lead the procession into the cemetery. The new Chief of the fire dept. read a Fireman's motto. He went along the lines, we are the first to arrive and we will be the last to leave, a salute to the fallen brethren, may he rest in peace. Then they passed a couple of flasks around for all to share in a toast to fallen chief. They played bag pipes.
It was a very emotional day for all that were there, family as well as friends.
He was 55 years young. He lost his life to cancer. May he forever rest in peace.
Love and miss you Uncle Roger!!
My uncle's long battle with cancer finally ended last night. He passed away around 9:30 pm. He will no longer have to suffer from the pain. He will now be able to rest peacefully.

I'm sorry for your loss but I'm glad to hear that your uncle doesn't have to suffer anymore..
I,m so sorry Sweetie, My heart goes out to you .
Thank you all for your thoughts and concerns.
Going through some tough family times. Just don't feel like being online much.
My mom just sent me a text, she is staying at the hospital tonight. The doctors came in and told the family that my uncle my only have two hours or two days. It is definitely a sad day. He as fought long and hard on this cancer battle. But he just can't fight off the pneumonia. The antibiotics are not working and his oxygen level keeps dropping.

I 'm sorry sweetie , I ,ll hold you in my prayers.
Thank you so much.
Last night when I went to pick up my daughter from my mom's house, my mom informed me that my uncle who has been battling his second fight with cancer is not doing good. They doctors told my aunt to call in the family. My mom was very sad last night. I called in sick from work for today and tomorrow, so my mom could go spend time with her brother. I was going to go, but since my little one has been on antibiotics for a sinus infection, they wouldn't let her in the floor to see him.
It is ironic though, the cancer is not what is going to kill him, it is the pneumonia he has.
Well the potty training has gotten better.
She has really taken to getting a sticker book when she goes all day with no accidents. She only wears a pull up at night. SHe has not had an accident in those for the past week. SO all in all, I think she has finally gotten the hang of it.
Yippy!!
