Here is a picture of our stray momma cat and her three kittens.

Well I found out that my grandma is going to start radiation treatments in about 2 1/2 weeks.



The doctors told her she could stop at any time if the treatments got to be to much for her.



I am not sure how happy I am about this. But it is her decision after all.

I am hoping that it is her decision and not my uncle's decision. She lives with her youngest son. Which I don't really see eye to eye with.



But we will see. I hope it allows her to live out her life the way she sees fit.

Got news today that my uncle will go back to Barnes Hospital on Monday to have some tests done. then they will admit him on Thursday and start more chemo. His doctors at Barnes are not happy that the tumors have actually grown a little bit in the past four weeks. They don't think the doctors at Carle were doing everything they can.



So I am taking off work tomorrow to go visit him at home. We are going to celebrate his birthday. Since he will be in the hospital for his birthday.

Yesterday around 12:30pm, the stray cat that has been hanging around my house since last October, has become a mommy. She had three little kittens. One calico and two grays. My daughter, who is three, has decided we are keeping one of them. We will see how the dog takes to that.



My dad told me we should give the other two kittens to my aunt on the farm, for mousers.



We are going to get the momma spaded after the kittens have been weened.

About five years ago, my uncle (my mom's brother) had cancer in his abdomen. They did a Whipple surgery and removed the cancer. He went through radiation and chemo. He went into remition. In February, he went to visit his oncologist for his check up and they found the cancer had come back.



He has a tumor on his brain, lung, stomach and back. He has been going through aggressive chemo therapy since March.



Today they found that the tumor in his brain, had shrunk by half, but the ones on his lung, back and stomach have not. On Friday he will go to his oncologist at Barnes Hospital in St. Louis to see if or what they can do for him.



This past Sunday, I took off work and went to visit him at home with my mom and my daughter. It was good to see him. But he looked terrible.



He told my mom that he was tired and exhausted. He hasn't been able to keep his blood pressure up and he has been dehydrated. My aunt had to rush him to the doctor on Monday to get IV fluids to hydrate him.



I can only imagine what he is going through. I know it has to be painful.

Back in February, my grandma was diagnosed with breast cancer. They removed the tumor at the end of March. They were pretty sure that they got rid of all the cancer cells. For three weeks after the surgery, the incision would bleed and her breast turned bright red. Come to find out, she developed an infection at the incision. They put her on antibiotics. Once she finished the antibiotics she went in for a check up. The doctors proceeded to tell my grandma that she needed to go through radiation.



My grandma is 84 years old. She has dementia. The doctors told my aunt and uncle that if she went through radiation or chemo, that it would probably put her into full fledged Alzheimers.



I have yet to hear what she has decided to do. I really hope she doesn't go through with it. That may sound selfish, but I want my grandma to live the rest of her life to the fullest and to remember her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Wondering if anyone knows how to start up a playgroup?



I am a single mother of a three year old daughter. She does not go to day care or to a babysitter. I can't afford them and I get no help from the state. My parents watch my daughter for me when I am work. I work second shift. Not a lot of day cares or babysitters for second shift anyway.



I would like to get my daughter more socialized with other children. She loves to be with other kids when she gets the chance. We are currently enrolled in a mommy and me tumbling class, but it ends at the end of April.



Any ideas, I would love to hear how to start one up?!

Being a home owner really sucks when you are currently living pay check to pay check.



My hot water heater has seen better days. It tends to work only when it wants to.



The washer and dryer are a match made in hell. They are about 20 years old and I don't know how much they have left in them. The washer makes really strange popping noises. The dryer seems like it doesn't get hot enough to dry.



Thank good summer is around the corner, time to hang out the clothes to dry.



The refrigerator makes a large crackling noise when the condenser kicks on and off. The repair guy told me there was nothing her could do for it. When it goes it will go.



The furnace has had a belly ache since two winters ago. It just trudges along. The duct work for it basically lays on the ground under my house, because my house was built on top of it. We had to dig out dirt just to run the duct work. When the repair guy came to the house, he said the duct work was full of water. Every time it rains, it just fills up. He also said it had mold in it. That is just great!! My daughter and I are breathing in mold every time it runs.



I got an estimate for a new furnace that would be out in my attic. It was roughly $3500. I will just get that from the tree out back.



If it ain't one thing it is ten thousand other things.

I know here in ontario if your house is 15 yrs + you can get a replacement for free. Perhaps if you called your provider you might be able to get a new one in exchange, with free installation?? Give it a try =)

Don't eat to much candy!!



Got to watch my little girl chase her Easter eggs in the yard today. Instead of searching for them, the wind made her chase them down. She had fun. The dog and cat helped her track them down. :)
